I don't think it will be a matter of who is the better player when it comes to our starting PG position next season. If we have Yao, Bosh, Brooks, and Martin the starting 5, that would be a lot of offense... but it would leave us really thin on the bench, in terms of scoring points.

Using Aaron Brooks in a Jason Terry type of role would make perfect sense with that squad.

Yao is going to be as effective as Ilgauskas when he comes back and he's only going to play about 15-25 minutes anyway before he gets injured again. Kevin Martin will probably get injured again too. And lo and behold your back to the same team minus Landry.

And I was assuming that if we got Bosh, it would be in a sign and trade type of deal. Which means, most likely, Scola would be one of the guys traded to the Raptors.

While Bosh may be somewhat unrealistic, it's pretty clear the Rockets can get Amare if they REALLY want the guy. We now a have likely a low lottery pick for this year, and NY's picks to bargain with along with Brooks/Scola. It's just a matter of how much Morey really covets the guy.

Assuming Brooks/Jeffries/Scola/pick(s) leaves for Phoenix, our rotation would be

    Yao
    Amare
    Ariza
    Martin
    Lowry

Bench would be okay with CBud, Hill, Hayes, and likely a PG signed for the MLE.

That's not a bad team at all.
