From a theoretical standpoint, assuming the Rockets offense run perfectly, then the amount of passing Harden does should be determined solely by what the defense gives up, and by how well our other players get open. Hence, it's not just up to Harden to pass, it's up to every other player on the court, both ours and opponent's.

Harden will generally always shoot more because he is the most efficient player on the team. He is also the lone shot creator on the team(Lin and Parsons are both more half a shot creator depending on defense and how well Lin can hit that jumper). So when everything else blows, he HAS to shoot the ball. Hence, from a causation standpoint, it's the overall offense that's causing Harden to shoot more, not the other way around.

We are if the other players step up big like they did last game. Not so much when they don't.

agreed but why not run a few plays first early in shot clock and go into iso mode when other options dont work first.

during the Clipper/Thunder game, Brooks was even telling Durant to run offense and take over in the 4th. Seems like Harden goes into 1 on 1 mode with 22 seconds on the shot clock as the primary Plan A
