That's just not true. Your memory is so short. A lot of people (sometimes including myself) were screaming for Adelman's head when he kept playing Budinger lots of minutes in the first half of the season even though Bud was playing like crap. His policy with Brooks was the same with Chase. He kept playing Brooks even though Brooks was garbage after his injury. I think Adelman's reasoning was that these guys had shown that they could play well in the previous season. They just needed to get their confidence back.

I get what the OP was saying... In my opinion, Adelman should not have been taking shots at Thabeet and T-Will, playing them or not playing them is a coaches decision, but come on saying that Hakeem in his current state and age is better than Thabeet (that to me is airing out dirty laundry). Morey said it when he got Thabeet..."Center dont' come cheap", he said how hard he tried to get a center... and "Thabeet stock was extremely low" so he took a flyer on him. As a coach, his decision to play or not play a guy is all he needs to do.

I think Adelman wanted to be more in charge of personnel decisions. And that is something that Morey is being paid to do - so why should Morey move aside? What Adelman needs now is a gig where he is the GM... He's a hall of fame coach who excelled, but it was quite obvious that Morey, Adelman, and Alexander were no longer on the same page.

You're right those guys weren't starters while Alston and Battier where there respectively but they weren't languishing on the bench and as backups got some decent playing time. T-Will not getting even a few minutes a game says more about T-Will to me than it does Adelman.

As far as the system guys I think it makes sense that Adelman would feel more comfortable with a player that Adelman type of ball. He still showed some flexibility for players who might not have been his type players at first but were willing to learn. For instance Chuck Hayes got playing time even when we had Yao and Mutumbo, since Hayes showed a willingness to work hard and learn.
