It seems like there isn't a 512 bitrate version of the second file, just 384 and 100. Changing 01-512.flv to 02-384.flv should work.

That's good stuff, DrLudicrous. I was just about to look at the XML for possible answers.

That worked, but where are you getting the 384 number from?

    The link you provided here:
This doesn't get me anything but an RSS link?

Thanks again....I'm humming along getting these downloaded, but I still don't know where doc is getting those numbers from. I'm just using 384 for everything so far.

    Any ideas, Swoly?

he just changed the bitrate. on the first vid, there was a 512 version available. on the rest, it's probably 384. so, 512 wouldn't have worked on those. hence why you're using 384 now :)

Sorry so late, but on Mac you can just press cmd opt A at the same time and it will pull up a list of activities running. Search for the biggest file running, it's usually the video. Double click. Downloads.

It could be how your browser is opening that file, but inside it there is a list of available flv files that the player picks from. If you download it and open it with TextEdit you should be able to see the list of files. But if using 384 is working you can just stick with that.

I was gonna suggest Ant Video Downloader on Firefox. It can download pretty much any streaming videos, I think.

Then I saw DrL's post and I felt stupid.

I tried that and nothing came up.

I understand that, but he is looking at the available bitrates, and that's what I can't find.

Lol yeah, me too. I did try that one already, though. But thanks.

Hm. I've just been trying to load the URL video source and all I get is some RSS feed. I'd love to know what I'm not doing right.

Thanks for all the feedback, y'all.

    Let me clarify.

Using safari to access the page the video is loading? If so, press command+option+a to access the activity window. You can also just go to window on the top toolbar and select the activity option.

Ah. I'm in Firefox. Just tried in in Safari. Pretty cool, but the largest file size it gives me is only 84K, so I guess they've got it buried.

Another method is to screen capture the video.

It might be an RSS link, but it has "filenames" there for the locations of the accompanying FLV videos... it appears you can select different bitrates for different files, and the Flash Player they use will play it for you.

Go to the XML again, and you can construct the link to download the chapter or lesson's specific file.

Paste this into FireFox's Address bar and press ENTER to see the source of this XML file (without the quotes):
    "view-source:http://wpc.1ba7.edgecastcdn.net/001BA7/vod/02.xml"

Now, take a look at the part that says:
    Code:
    media:content bitrate="384" url="02-384.flv" width="320"
This means that there is a file "02-384.flv" in the same location of the XML, so you just replace "02.xml" with "02-384.flv" in the first URL and you get what DrLudicrous suggested.

Now, you just download the FLV file. Where are you getting stuck? Go through each lesson and do the same. Find the XML, view its source, replace filename. Easy?

Ah, got it. I was entering "http://wpc.1ba7.edgecastcdn.net/001BA7/vod/02.xml" instead of "view-source:http://wpc.1ba7.edgecastcdn.net/001BA7/vod/02.xml."

    It all makes sense now.

Thank you sir. Here's some smilies and some rep.
    :) :p ;)
