Yeah, but CP3 would likely have Yao in the Duncan role. The thought of CP3 running the Adelman offense with the kind of quicks you'd have left after the trade is amazing. Also, a lineup with Ariza, Battier, Landry or Hayes, Posey and Cp3 would be a brutal small ball squad. The words "switch everything" come to mind. You would see what the McGrady / Battier / Artest experiement was *supposed* to look like. Un-freaking-stopable at the ends of games. The problem with this trade is that it is horrible for NO as a basketball organization. The only way they do this is if it is time to move the club anyway and the *only* consideration is cashflow. They won't survive long doing this to themselves from a basketball standpoint unless God drops Michael Jordan's brother by another mother on them in the second round of next year's draft .
Obviously I value Gordon more than you do but it was just a suggestion. If we were to take the Knicks junk offer that included Curry, Hughes etc I'll admit we're beggars. I guess I used the term "beggar" to lightly. I think the deal I proposed is fair and equal to both sides.
You're joking right. This guy is Hall of Fame bound already with a sorry team. AB and Scola is nothing compared to what CP3 would do in a Rockets uni. We have Landry to slide up and he will make him into an all star being our starting PG. Chemistry would not suffer one bit if we got Paul. You must be on some out of this world sh** for that one.
Most definitely. The ONLY reason NO thinks about trading Chris Paul is because they are hemoraging money and this might be the only way to stop it. You can bet that they will explore all other possible options before trading CP3.
Rockets Get: James Harden, Eddie Curry, Larry Hughes Thunder Get: Nate Robinson, Al Harrington Knicks Get: Tracy McGrady, Etan Thomas Rockets - Houston embraces a much needed true SG. Harden is potent from the inside and out, while being a strong defender. Curry and Hughes are expiring contracts and also provide depth at party filled positions for Rockets. Thunder - OKC replaces scoring power with Nate and AL, and gives their frontcourt support and length. Westbrook and Nate are a fierce penetrating tandem. Late in games, AL can play the five. Knicks - $30 mill in expiring contracts, get rid of two players that don't even touch the court even when they are healthy! Curry, Nate. Fuel to their Free Agent Hunt.
Curry has a player option for $11M+ next year. He most likely won't be an expiring deal. I don't see any way we touch Curry.
Those are losers. The best chance is Chris paul for DM. But at least 2 of AB/landry/Cbud/Scola will be gone with Tmac.
Im not good with trades but if New Jersey was serious about gettin Lebron, Could we work a deal for tmac to New Jersey for Harris and some others?
Well if they want to offer the max to Lebron, they could give him up? What about lopez and some other young playerS?
TBH i rather Kevin Martin than the Chicago deal, with that deal we get even more role players, how are you goign to distribute the minutes? We are adding 3 guys that will want at least 25 mins and subtracting a guy that barely plays. Unless we make trades after the Chicago deal i don't think it will benefit us too much.
NJ aint giving up any young players. LeBron is gonna have to have some players to play with if he wants to go there. You get rid of those players, it makes it less attractive than it already is
Pretty much. We also need to realize that if Paul wanted out of NO or they expressed interest in moving him to save money, then you can bet that there will be 29 teams putting together packages with loads of young talent to get Paul. So, we have to ask ourselves, what do we have to offer NO? We have some pretty good young talent in Landry, Brooks, and Bud, but I think our advantage lies in the fact that we can take on a couple of their awful contracts as well. Most other teams wouldn't be able to take on Peja + Posey in a trade, but as long as we have TMac's $23 million EC, we sure can. So let's hope we get this deal done before the end of the season. However, chances are, Paul and NO won't be going their separate ways any time soon.
Harris has been playing like garbage as of late. I wouldn't be surprised if they try and move him. That being said, I sure as hell don't want him on this team. He hasn't lived up to his potential since he got traded to NJ.
