I googled and it appeared there are some in Australia. But are there alligators or crocodiles in any of the other oceans or seas? This is the only thing preventing me from enjoying the ocean these days. I don't know alot about reptiles or the ocean. Thanks.
I think it's Alligators in fresh water and Crocodiles in Salt water so... Crocs would get ya' in the ocean?
That is incredible! Man those ole Shark Versus Alligator images pop in my head [I think shark and it ain't even close] but .. in a more confined area. . . look out Rocket River
Honestly I could not image swimming in the ocean beyond just the beach. I see movies where the Sailors on a ship just jump off the side and swim . . .I don't think I would have the nerve 1. Cannot see land! YIKES! 2. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IS DOWN THERE!! Sharks, etc Rocket River will stay my butt on the boat
Gators are freshwater. I don't think we have crocs in Texas. And, if we do, they probably aren't the saltwater variety. Stick to worrying about the sharks.
I've never had problems enjoying the ocean despite the potential for reptiles. Just don't think about them. It's kind of like taking a walk around the block- it's possible a pit bull will maul you, but if you don't think about it, you can have a good time.
^^Ok, what is the point of posting a pic of anything that is just barely connected to the subject du jour? That pic of Crocodile Dundee adds NOTHING to the thread. If you are going to post a pic, at least make it relevant, or funny. If you can't do that, then at least post a lolcat or an inspirational poster. Just a pet peeve of mine.
I've had gators chasing my line if I had a fish on while wade fishing in the Gulf before. Not much of a danger to people, though.
I know they have crocs in Florida near the Keys. And I have seen with my own eyes a croc in Cancun. (Earlier in the same day, I had rented a jet ski and plowed the same waters ) Crocs should be able to live in Texas water.
