When the Thunder add (or their current players grow into) decent 2nd and 3rd options to KD, his assists will go up, probably to 6-7 per game. Right now, Westbrook, Green, Harden and Sefalosha are all very inefficient on offense. I'm gonna choke Jeff Green if he doesn't cease and desist on the 3-pointers. Just STOP! In an earlier thread, someone said Westbrook was the most inefficient starting PG in the NBA (I love the guy and think he's on the way to becoming a top-tier PG down the line). Krstic shoots well but he's way down the food chain. IMO, if it weren't for KD putting up 20 shots/game and hitting near 50%, the Thunder would be the worst offensive team in the NBA by a wide margin. KD makes good passes quite often but their interior players fumble passes and they have no other decent outside shooters on the team. If their team defense wasn't as good as it is, the Thunder wouldn't be in the playoff hunt. They have a lot of room to grow and it isn't hard to see where they need to improve.
I see nothing with what I said. Kobe is indeed a specialist, he isn't exactly known for his playmaking abilities, isn't he? In fact, prior to Gasol and Bynum's emergence, Kobe had a rep for being a ballhog and focusing on nothing but scoring the ball while the rest of his teammates just watch. I repeat, the only thing that Durant is elite at is scoring, and that what makes him a specialist. LBJ can do almost everything at an elite level, that makes him a jack of all trades contributing across the entire board.
Durant will rival Lebron. It's set in stone. And if Wade can stop getting injured, he would be the third elite in the league for years to come. At the moment in ESPN fantasy basketball, Durant's PR15 is 16.00 or something around that. That is probably top 3 or 4 in the league right now. btw: I've got Durant and Wade in my team. Soooo good, but I took a big hit in my depth to assemble that duo.
yeah, but 3.8 turnovers is a lot. its about 1 turnover more than most superstars, and other superstars get a few more assists. I dont think hes one dimensional, I dont think being labelled a scorer is the same as being labelled one dimensional, i mean if he was called a shooter then sure, but we all know hes more than just a shooter. I expect him to average about 6-7 rebounds as well, with his length he should be a good rebounder. Plus, hes not reeeaally a shooting guard, the SF on the opposing team usually guards him. Still, 7 boards is pretty good i suppose, I just think he has the potential to be a better rebounder with his physical tools.
Are there any chance Amare going there? What are the other good big man available this year? How is OKC cap situation? OKC is a very good young team, but not a place ppl want to go to like South Beach, NY, LA, even Houston. Productive bench can be added in time.....
Blazers- 24-16 OKC-- 21-17 Two years ago, Portland won 41. They won 54 last season. They have a better record this season with basically half their roster out with injury. How exactly is OKC better?
Two years ago, Seattle won 20. OKC won 23 last year. I think the point people were making: Thunder are on the rise and appear to be dangerous in the future, while exceeding expectations this year. Basically how Portland had previously been described. The recurring injuries to Portland are crushing the hopes/fears of the Blazers becoming the next "Dynasty". Oh yeah... and Durant went to Texas.
If they can make the money to keep all their young players, then they will be. The big difference is the Blazers are a team that can afford to spend. I'm just not sure OKC will be able to afford that in the long term.
