    Top 5 Offenses (Yds/Gm)
    SD
    Den
    IND
    Hou
    Dal

    Top 5 Offenses (Pts/Gm)
    GB
    NE
    Ind
    Phi
    Ten

    Top 5 Defenses (Yds/Gm)
    Bal
    GB
    Oak
    SD
    Min

    Top 5 Defenses (Pts/Gm)
    Pit
    KC
    Min
    GB
    Bal

Green Bay shows up in 3 of the 4 categories. SD is the only other team showing up on offense and defense. It's early, but I'd be paying attention to that.

If you look at +/- differential
    NFC: GB, ATL, Phi
    AFC: PIT, TEN, KC, IND

I'm still not going to vote until the bye, but at this juncture, after yesterday's return of half-assery, after getting more proof that our week 2 OT win was against a crummy team.....I don't see this team playing after the BCS bowls.

F it, I've seen enough to vote. A win over KC at home next week won't change my mind.

This is the creampuff portion of the schedule, and Kubiak has let the team crap away two games in embarrassing fashion.

Enough with the excuses. Playoff teams don't get dominated at home, twice, against underdogs. The team looks weak willed and flaky, the exact same reasons they squandered a playoff berth last year.

The window in the NFL is short, and Kubiak looks ready to throw away a second consecutive year of Johnson's prime and a playoff caliber roster.

Too bad McNair is perfectly content with almost good enough.

People think I am biased .. . but to me. . Kubiak is alot of the problem.
I understand he a young coach making young coaching mistakes
    but
I seriously think the team is talented enough to do better.

Are the Giants this much more TALENTED than the Texans?
Are they more TALENTED at all?

After a 1/4 of the season; if the league wide parity holds up then yea we and every other playoff team is a contender to win it.

    BTW I voted no :)

I say no. Besides Pollard I haven't seen intensity in the team . I don't see the sense of urgency to win.....anyways ..That's how I feel ..I hope it changes soon :(

If you are happy with 7-9, 8-8, and 9-7 mediocre seasons then enjoy being complacent along with your big bucket of non-stupid.

teams on our schedule we can't possibly beat:
    @ indy
    chargers
    @ jets
    @ philly
    ravens
we'll lose to the titans at least once.

we will finish .500 at best

Are you serious???????? For the past three years we have had high hopes for this team, but unfortunately they always have a run of three or four games where they just don't show up to play or are just outplayed!! We already have had two games like that this year and both have been home games against teams we were favored against.... With the upcoming schedule of
    Oct 17 Chiefs
    -------------------------
    Bye Week
    -------------------------
    Nov 01 @ IND
    Nov 07 Chargers
    Nov 14 @ JAX
    Nov 21 @ NYJ
I think we should be concerned.

We've beaten Indy soundly at home, it's not a strech to say we can beat them on the road. They also lost to a bad Jacksonville team.

I don't see what's so great about Philly. We'll definitely have a chance against the Chargers at home, they just lost to the Raiders.

Ravens and Jets are the only ones I would pencil in an L for.

indy is a finesse team and we beat them at home, won't happen in their building. philly is physical, our gals don't like that. san diego is more physical and more talented, same with titans. i hope i get to eat crow but i seriously doubt it.

Ironic that folks that post lines like this rarely ever provide an intelligent reason to believe that two Texans end-to-end F- showings at home against a lesser (if competitive) opponent is a complete fluke. Please, feel free to explain why going 3-2 against five teams with a combined 12-12 record is a good thing when we're looking at a brutal post-bye schedule.

This team could have 12 wins if they weren't so happy to play beneath themselves.

I know they're better than this. Both the Colts and Titans demolished the Giants. Titans rang the Cowboys up for 34 in Dallas while we only managed 13 against them at home.

There is legitimate reason to be concerned about the Texans' playoff hopes. And I want them to make it as badly as anyone on this board. I've been a season ticket holder since the beginning and am aching for a ninth home game.

    Here's the problem with Philly:

Eagles are a historically tough team to play in Philadelphia
(Though bizarrely, they are 3-0 on the road and winless at home this year)

It's a Thursday night game in early December
    -->Cold weather, open air stadium
-->Short week following our home game against Tennessee

I also don't like the idea of DeSean Jackson getting a crack at our secondary.

Of course we get payback - the following week is our home MNF matchup with Baltimore, giving us a week and a half to prep.

while i do agree the last 2 outings have been painful and the team isnt playing well, you also cant always compare teams week to week. This is the NFL and although cliche, any team can win on a given sunday.

But comparing how a team played another team is difficult because of different schemes and the fact that teams just have off days. I wished the giants would have tried their nickel package to the texans like they did the colts. I also wished Romo would have had one of his 3 int days against the texans.

What i dont get is that this team has a hard time playing well at home and they have a hard time being favored.

I think the Texans are undefeated all-time in cold weather games. Not a big sample size though.

the way the leauge is going this year, I wouldnt be surprised if there are multiple 9-7 divison winners and a few 8-8 wild card teams.
