I think the Spurs are opting for health over HCA. Given the number of veterans on their team, I think it's the smart move.

Yeah, but if they would've won tonight and win against Boston, they can effectively rest for the last week of the season. If they lose to Boston they are really going to make their life difficult to keep the #1 seed. And if they don't want to do that, I'm not sure why they played so balls out during the season. Without HCA, I think they don't have a chance.

How many people missed this fact about tonight? Also, Richard Jefferson played like a dog and Gary Neal's shot was off. Yet the Spurs still led the game by 7 midway in the 4th quarter before finally collapsing. No TD. No TP. No Manu. No McDyess. It was painful watching them try to score. Seemed like a lid was on the basket.

While there is a possibility the Lakers will pass them for best record in the West, the Spurs will win in the 1st round and we'll see from there. The Lakers would clobber them and I think the Thunder could give the Spurs serious problems. I still think they would beat the Mavs.

I've called them overrated all season and have discounted their chances of making the Finals. My opinion hasn't changed.

The Spurs beat the Mavs 4-2 in the first round last year. They lost 4-1 to the Mavs in the first round two years ago. They lost a seven game series to the Mavs in 2006.

Those three series are the only times those teams have played in the playoffs going back to 2004. Being 1-2 in series against another team is hardly "manhandling" them.

They just want to make sure their key players are healthy come playoffs time.

Ouch talk about getting owned. Some people should really go look at the history of the two teams in the playoffs before typing because you turn out looking like an idiot.

The mavericks are chockers. They wont pass the second round.
I think pop knows he only needs 4 more wins to have hca, so he wont rush any of his starters to play injured.
That being said, i think the lakers are the team to beat.

True but manu didn't play in 09 and spurs lost games 1 and 4 because they had no options scoring cuz bonner and mason pretty much disappeared in that series, and of course if manu doesn't foul dirk spurs win that series, and 3 peat.

As a spurs fan I'm not worried its not like we got blown out these games, and were winning in the 4th quarter its just frustrating we could of won all 4 games, but ran out of gas.

About health manu looked a lot better than he did Sunday against memphis they said, parker was just resting along with mcdyess, but parker has a little injury bothering him I heard, and duncan should be back Tuesday, like sean elliot said on the broadcast Sunday that if this was a playoff series game, duncan would of played just would have taped it up.

Spurs magic number is 6 and not sure about next game against boston, but confident spurs will win the next 5 after that

And that's why I think they deserve to lose HCA to the The Lakers.

I never bought into the hype and knew they would start faltering closer to the end cause of their age.

After tonight the Lakers are now only 1 game back of the Spurs in the loss column. There is a game between these two coming up in L.A which the Lakers will win and that will give them the tie-breaker. The Spurs are toast.
