Are the Rockets still better than the Mavs?

They don't have Vince Carter anymore. They are garbage.

 

Dallas is pretty thin too and they have very little to no defense.

It's going to come down to the Tyson Chandler Parsons Project. CP needs to play the same or better offensively AND play good defense. tyson needs to turn back the clock. Then, they may be just as good. Of course, if we start having problems, they can always end up better.

Without Vince they can actually make it to the Finals again. It's the lack of Shawn Marion that's gonna hurt them.

 

We have better players so yes. Their bench is decimated and their defense now depends on an elite but aging and injury prone center.

I think so. I did look through the Mavs subreddit today, though, to see what they're saying and they pretty much indisputably seem to think they're better than us (but I guess that's to be expected from them). Predictions thread pretty much universally had them at about the 4 seed and us at the 7 or 8. I really don't see anyway that we drop off as much as critics are saying we will.

 

Lol. We might drop if our offseason signings don't pan out but that is like a 7-8 seed team at best.

 

For some reason I think Marion will still end up with the Mavs on a huge payout cuz they're just that lucky.
I do think they are a better team than the rockets, but I base that on I think they would beat us in a playoff series.

 

I think our roster is much better, but Carlisle can get more out of his team. I see us as a 5 seed, and Dallas as a 6.

Not if Parsons is really as good as he thinks he is.

 

Losing VC first hurts. No real star power outside Dirk. Monte is pretty decent.. Kevin Martin type. 50 wins would be a good season for them

 

I've heard Carter and Marion, but they also lost Calderon, Blair, and Dalembert. Obviously a healthy Tyson Chandler is better, but Dalembert and Blair were very good in that series against the Spurs. Carter and Calderon both shot over 40% from 3 last season and carried that hot shooting into the playoffs as well.

 

The Rockets have better talent because of Harden and Howard.

Dallas has the better coach.

 

questionable. Rockets have 2 greats players, 2 solid role-player type players, and then a huge blob of young, raw, inexperienced players with a terrible coach leading them.
