The Rockets have bottom level talent, no superstar and bum candidates at coach. The organization has absolutely no direction. How can letting Adelman go be good for the Rockets?

I'd hate to be a downer, but after watching these playoffs, I really am going to miss Rick A. He's probably one of the best offensive coaches in the history of the league. Can you believe we were scoring at the rate we were without a true superstar?? Watching OKC and Chicago, with their supposedly "boy genius" coaches just run disgusting isolation plays all day into the teeth of set defenses is painful.

I kept thinking during tonight's game, "oh man, thank god we have a guy who can manufacture points with ball movement and sharp cuts that loosen up a set D." Then I remembered that he was let go because we want to groom some kid. Kid coaches are a dime a dozen. Hall-of-famers are not.

    selective memory ...

you know we had so many games when we had scoring droughts and couldn't outscore the opponent right, even with RA's vaunted offense

we couldn't get past DAL, CHI, MIA, and won just one games vs. OKC

This is why we are hiring McHale, he's no boy at age 53 and certainly no genius. Our offense is saved!

I think RA was great over his time with the Rox, and great for stretches of this past season. However, I think he hurt us, too, by 1) de-emphasizing defense, and 2) sticking too long with players who should have been on the bench. If DM hadn't saved his ass by taking away some of his options in February, we might have lost another ten games.

The only reason defense was de emphasized, if that's even true, is because there is no way in hell this team will ever be close to respectable with the current roster. For the millionth time, RA is a great defensive coach. He's proven it before, and he proved it again when he first got to Houston.

I am actually fine with Finch though. The rockets could continue with one of the leagues best offenses and bring in some players capable of making an impact defensively. Watching some of the offensive play in the post season is disgusting.

He had players that could have gotten more minutes, if he had cared much about defense. For instance, he could have played Bud less, and AB less.
