Completely missed this when I read it. You are trying to play a game of semantics with this one. You yourself said that David Thorpe is a personal coach for NBA players and is giving his opinion as such and not a fan. Compared to him almost all fans are "casual fans" so you should have just said fan instead. However, you put casual in there for a reason so you could distinguish between different levels of fan and typically casual isn't a very big fan by definition. So to answer your last question yes I study player development less than Thorpe does but that in no way makes me a casual fan.

I agree. One of the reasons I was ok with getting rid of adelman was bc I thought we were bringing in a coach who was going to help the young players develop and be more concerned about the future of the franchise than current wins and loses. Unfortunetely, Rockets are still stuck on the whole "win as many games as we can" mode .. for example with martin out, there is no reason why twill should not play some key minutes, when hill was out, why didnt thabeet get some pt?

Probably one of the best teams in this so far this year. I guess OP had another knee jerk reaction? Best group of young guys who can defeat the Knicks starters and last teams starters with all young guys closing the game.

are the nets not good at developing young talent, because they get rid of twill?

the memphis are not good at that, because they drafted thabeet and let him go?

the pistons are not good at that because they drafted darko milicic, and he sucks?

    this thread is dumb.
