Everyone worth taking seriously (read: Not Kelly Iko) is mocking Scoot to Charlotte or Portland. If we want him, we'll almost certainly have to pay up big time.

I mean this shouldn’t surprise anybody. Stone would not be doing his job properly if he did not explore trade up options as well as trade down options.

Had a feeling this was going on when the Zion rumor came out days after Zion was rumored to be offered to Charlotte for #2.

I suggested we acquire Zion at a premium (i.e. we outbid Charlotte) and send him to Charlotte for #2.

It's Fischer though so who knows how much truth there is to it.

Under 6'4 in shoes is 6'3" in shoes.....so he is at most 6'2........not interested in Short Henderson.

I would feel a lot better about Jalen’s development with Scoot next to him. I literally can’t think of anyone better in this draft for our team. I suspect moving up will require one or two of Jabari, Sengun, and Tari and those are my guys, but that backcourt might be worth going all in on for the future.

This dude at 19 will bully most guards in the league already. randoms acting like his size is some negative have no fcking clue what they're talking about. stick to your local ymca volunteer scouting. it belongs there

In the past, I wouldn't have thought twice about a 6'2" PG. But today, with defenses wanting to switch on everything being such a priority, he better be a generational talent to balance out their limitations on defense.

For clarity, I am not saying 6'2" guards are obsolete or even that teams should avoid them.
I am saying I am not sure I want to use the 4th pick on one.

If the Rockets feel like this is the guy to pair with Green/Jabari/Eason then I feel like pick #20, Nets pick next year, KPJ/Martin other team(s) for a pick if Charlotte does not want them would maybe be enough. You could package #20 with those 2 players to get higher pick to trade to charlotte as well if a team wanted them and still have the #20 pick. So something like pick #12ish, Nets 2024 pick, #4 pick, and maybe Tate or Garuba or Christopher for Scoot Henderson. Maybe that is a lot for a player and moving up 2 spots. But it is an absolutely critical decision for the Rockets.

All in all it is doable to land Scoot if you really want him 100%. Get a good vet back point guard. A rim protecting big and a good shooter and you are talking about a much much much more complete team than last few seasons.

Henderson/ FVV or Conley or Beverley etc
    Green/Curry/Christopher
    Eason//Cam/Tate
    Jabari/Free Agent rim protecter
    Sengun/Garuba

That is still an extremely young lineup but 4 players in their 3rd year, 2 in their 2nd year. Along with a PG off the bench that plays all minutes with Henderson or Green are on the bench which should be 26-20 min a game. Making the bench much stronger than trotting freaking Nix out there.

If we really like him, Im fine with doing #4, #20 and the 2024 Nets pick at this point.

He’s impressive physically, sure, but the question is why didn’t he bully the sorry-azz G-league guards? In his second year in the G-league?
I mean in his second year in G-league D.Nix looked like a beast. Something is off, but the physical force is evident in these videos…

Amen and Whitmore also look very strong and capable of bully-ball, BTW.
