You go on and on about the bad start of the Grizzlies and the Hornets, but discount the brutally tough schedule the Rockets also had to begin the season. Are you just burned up over the lack of big names on the roster? Some of these guys like Brooks and Landry are carving names out for themselves in the NBA. I sure don't want to forget the ex-Grizzlie on our own team. I bet they wouldn't mind having Lowry back.

The Rockets probably wouldn't mind having Gay back either.

Yes we had a brutal schedule to begin the season, but now we are getting to the "easy" part of our schedule and are struggling.

so struggling for the last 5 games automatically means that we're going to struggle the rest of the way

More like we're in a funk and will probably snap out of it and get 'back to form' in the next few games.

I had not looked at the standings today, but as of yesterday or the day before we were on the outside looking in.

And man do we have a huge lead over the teams below us in the standings -.-.

Be realistic we are in no way going to get a stranglehold on the playoffs.

In other words nothing is for certain. We can't take winning for granted, but now isn't the time to be defeatist.

As long as there isn't much margin between us and the teams below us it's foolish to start labeling your own team the worst in the division.

    Yesterday we were 8th.

In fact, after we beat San Antonio (the day before) we were 6th.

Check out the results of games IN OUR DIVISION:

    Houston 5-4 (55.6%)
    Dallas 6-5 (54.5%)
    San Antonio 4-4
    New Orleans 3-4
    Memphis 2-3

By results SO FAR we're the best team in our division.

    Great thread

At some point in the past few days we were the 9th seed as I remember this thread was accurate.

This thread is still alive so I'll just stop here to say it's silly.

The Southwest division has been a very tight division where there are wild swings in the standings often. This has been the case for at least the last three seasons. Were bound to be up and down the standings just like some of the other teams, but in no way are we the worst in our division.

And this Grizzlies stuff you're hanging your argument on, yes they got some young talent, so what? The owner and GM will piss it all away to save some money.

IMHO we're not really "least talented" per se, its just that the roster is flawed at the moment. I mean, Ariza, Battier, Brooks, Landry, Scola? You call that untalented? The problem is we lack a scoring wing who can shoulder the load. Right now we're 100% dependent on Brooks/Lowry and Scolandry to create for the entire team. If Lowry/Brooks and Scolandry are playing like crap, we don't have any option left. Battier and esp. Ariza are stuggling offensively big time, so we can't count on anybody else to put the ball in the hoop outside of those four.

Once we get our scoring wing, you'll see the team improve dramatically. It doesn't even have to be superstar caliber, even someone like Von Wafer, Mike Miller or Jason Richardson would fit the bill perfectly.

so Memphis is a lottery team too, and maybe the hornets doesnt make the playoffs too, so just because the rockets doesnt get in the playoffs they are automatically the worst team in the division?

and right now, we are not a lottery team.

and the rockets will end the season ahead of memphis and NO.

    This thread is very relevant.
After the outcome of tomorrows game it could be 100% completely relevant.

Who has the best record in our division when you look at ONLY games played against divisional rivals?

At least if we had the Grizzlies record in that regard it might give you some fuel for the fire?

that was a knee jerk thread created after the Jazz won last Wednesday. The Rockets were idle the entire week, having a Friday-Monday-Friday schedule.

after we beat the Spurs, we were a game out of the 4th seed and we are back in the playoff picture.

both threads received a one-star rating from the posters of clutchfans.net.

68% of posters at clutchfans.net do not think the Rockets are worst in their division.

posting one knee jerk thread in another knee jerk thread does nothing for your argument.

Rockets are not the worst team in the division. The Rockets don't have the worst talent in the division.

N.O. has Chris Paul. Every other position the Rockets win when Yao returns.

Memphis has better offensive talented. If Carl Landry was on the Grizzlies, he would be their DEFENSIVE STOPPER. Landry, Scola, Brooks I think are less talented than memphis's best players, but the Rocket's bench is way more talented than memphis's bench players. When Yao returns, this isn't close.
