Uh, yeah. Having a better record generally indicates you're a better team. What a surprise.

You do realize how bad the Grizzlies started out right ?
They have one of the best records in the entire NBA since they stopped struggling after about a month or so.

Do you not remember the Hornets playing terrible as well ?
Since CP3 has come back they have played better as well.

Both of the teams I just mentioned are hardly below us in the standings, and have been VASTLY outperforming us in the past few weeks.

There are other teams besides the Rockets in the NBA. Try watching them ?

Yes, it does indeed. Our record indicates we are currently better than Memphis and New Orleans.

Of course many of the so called experts like to point out that we have played fewer home games and played more back to back games than any other team. If you want to give these facts any weight, then I guess you might say we are a much better team than what our record indicates.

At this point, when I look at the standings, it looks like we are definitely better than Memphis and New Orleans. I don't see any need to get negative about everything and give up on the team half way through the season.

Before the season started I predicted the Rockets would only win about 35 games, so I'm very pleased with their performance so far. I don't know what you were expecting.

right, but being worst in the league doesnt mean youre a terrible team either. the nets are one of the best teams in the world.

still, theres an inner division sense of competencia.

I don't think you can "definitely" say that we are better than them just judging by the standings. We are only one game ahead of last place in this division. And our level of play has been faltering as of late while other teams have been increasing.

I fail to see how this post is bad by any means.

People get so hurt on this website when it looks like someone is saying something negative about the Rockets.

The SouthWest Division is the hardest Division in the NBA, and right now we are simply getting outplayed.

we have the 3rd best record in our divison. we have the 2nd best record v. teams head to head in our divison.

so it's a bad post. and we just beat the damn spurs on the road 2 nights ago.

I just don't understand these stupid Rockets players! Beat down a good Spurs team on the road, and suck it up against a pathetic Bulls team! It's time to bench Ariza, trade Battier, start CBud, trade TMAC for ANYTHING and get their asses in gear! TONIGHT WAS AN EMBARRASSMENT!

Just because we are 5-4 in the division does not make us better than the other teams who have losing records within the division.
You have to look how teams not only play in our division, but outside as well.
When the playoffs come your divisional record doesn't mean anything, because normally the playoffs will be against non-divisional teams.

Last year the Spurs were 10-6 in the division, but lost to the Mavericks who were 7-9 in the division during the playoffs.

So by your theory the Spurs had a better divisional record thus they were the better team. Yet they got beat by a team that was 7-9 within the division.

I think not, just because you dont have a go-to guy doesnt mean you are bad.

look the division record, the rockets are not the worst:

    Dallas 6-5
    Spurs 4-4
    Rockets 5-4
    Hornets 3-4
    Memphis 2-3

and if all the teams wins 50 games, been the worst in the division, doesnt make you look bad.

I'm not saying we are a bad team, but with 40+Million dollars on the bench everyone knew that staying competitive for the entire season would be a challenge.

I think this is just a knee jerk reaction to a loss to a Bulls team..

Rockets are by no means behind Memphis or New Orleans.

I think the Rockets have proven they can beat Dallas or SA any given night. Sure they have more talent then us right now, but we somehow find a way to keep scrapping away victories no matter what anyone says.

I think Rockets are doing great, especially being 5-4 in the division this early. We usually stink up the division the first half of the season

Pretty sure thinking Tmac was going to be Top 5 MVP this year when he came back is a lot worse than thinking Rockets being worst team in a division. Especially when the records are all close. He had a knee-jerk reaction, you had a completely biased reaction when you said that.

it helps if you remember the post. i admitted i was going to lose the bet to wekko when i make the bet, so hence i didn't really think tmac was going to do that.

i still do believe if he had the "opportunity" to keep playing, he would be near his 07-08 form. we're not going to know that until february will we?

The point of this thread was to see what others thought.

I think that as we currently stand without Yao/Mcgrady we will ultimately end up behind everyone in the divisional standings.
