WILL BE??? Mobley has to most years as a Rocket under his belt and from what you said, you make it seem like he's some new guy to the team. His role has already been defined, he's the scorer and starting SG. Every analyst and player who talks about Mobley will tell you he is one of the best penetrators and quickest players in the entire league. So we should just not utilize those skills and plant him on the three point line???

I completely agree. Cat's role has already been defined and we need to use him. He is the kind of scorer who can break open close games.

The Rockets really should run him off some baseline picks and get him open more, especially with Yao there to set the last pick and shield the defender while Cat nails the quick jumper.

I think we will see alot of that when Cat returns

Yes, I mean WILL BE. Yes, his role has already been defined IN THE PAST. That role was not the role of a "role player." That role was a role of a ball dominator together with Francis. If he keeps playing that past role, that means the Rockets will continue to play guard ball, which didn't win them a lot of games, which also certainly will not be used a lot with the emergence of Yao Ming.

Mobley is struggling with his new role. I still maintain that he is not a selfish player in the sense of putting himself before the team. He has cut down a lot of shot attempts so far. My point is, he needs to learn to pass better (make better decisions). If he cannot do that, the team needs to use him as a pure shooter (which he is perfectly capable of doing well) rather than having him handling the ball much.

Anyone notice that Cuttino was constantly talking to Yao on the bench? Well, if he becomes Yao's new best friend, he's definitely not getting traded! :p
