If that is the case, we need a solid plan B cause the really good teams will dictate the speed of the game and make us play at their desired speed. So we need to have good half court sets with productive/efficient x's and o's.

And if do we end up being a running team we cant afford to be like the Suns in the Nash era and Warriors in the Don Nelson era. We need defense.

Yes, we can and should be a run and gun team with Lin, Martin, Parsons, Lamb, Machado, TJones, Asik & White. Actually we haven't been doing it enough imo. They need to look at old Hornets and Nuggets tapes of the early 90s and see how they did it. The problem so far already has been transition defense which means either they are not doing it right (too many guys), not committed enough or just don't have the energy / stamina. I think it's a combination of the 3 with stamina being the #1 problem.

This will however get better when the season progresses. I hope we don't make the mistake of trying to just outscoring teams like the Nuggets run-and-gun teams but more like Hornets when they had Zo, Gill & LJ as good defenders who then could have little Muggsy start the fast break.

This is a nice thread. An interesting post, compared to just about everything else on here.

    Keep posting...
