Although Jalen is balling out of his mind, I think under all the surface, starting Amen and Fred finding his groove is actually propelling this team... You could actually see when Jalen was missing the 1 or 2 Free throws, a guy like VV was doing his thing to ensure that cushion.
You would think we are contenders or something. We’re the 11th seed and people want to trade Sengun because Jalen may lead us to that elusive 10th spot.
This post is so insanely dumb. We beat teams who are significantly worse than ours/tanking teams, except OKC, which however was playing without Shai. I am happy for the Rockets that we have been winning and I agree Jalen has been great during this stretch and should win player of the month, but Jalen was terrible through the first 60 games of the season. Even with his great stretch against bad teams and OKC, his season averages are still not good: You don't even realize that you are countering your own argument. Yes, we did better when Green was actually making his shots, duh. The problem was that in most games, he was not making his shots. In the meantime, Alpi has been playing well consistently.
I count 5 blowout wins out of just these games on this list. How many blowout wins have they had with Sengun leading the team this season?
For sure, the team is better than their seed because they lost some games they should not have..... Maybe their seed is around 7th or 8th....but I agree mostly. Now everyone is happy and they are getting paid but wait when young guys are demanding near max contracts, and obviously a few deserve one.....then it is all about business. They will fight for it too. Sengün should be staying for a long time.
I'm afraid that karma will get posters @coachbadlee, @Reeko, @StroudAndYorDaddy, @rocketchamp and certain others and that we will lose 4 of our next 6 games. I really hope it will not happen. But these are actually decent teams we will be playing, not the Blazers or Jazz or Wizards. Sadly, it feels like the agenda-driven posters will get what they deserve.
All I know is now it's no longer certain that sengun is number one in the pecking order with the rise of green. If green can keep this consistency man will b the number one on the team. Green is putting up 28.9 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 14 games this month. Any player putting up this stat for the season is basically the primary option on the team. Atw trying to downplay greens brilliance during this win streak by lookin down on the teams we beat. We are on a win streak bc of greens performance.
No, Green has been brilliant during this stretch, no doubt. I am happy he played well and we have been winning. It's just disgusting how some posters try to use that to crap on an injured player on their own team.
Also, I would be perfectly happy for Jalen to average 30 points and be the top scorer and the Rockets to win 50+ games. The only thing that bothers me is the divisive agenda of "Jalen would have been better if not for Sengun", that's just nonsense, and Ime himself said that.
same Rockets that were just 13-8 against below .500 teams including losses to the likes of the Blazers, Spurs, and Grizzlies are now blowing out these bad teams and handling business… no, we didn’t just do better…a tanking 22 win team had a .500 record over a 30 game sample size when Green played well team has now gone from 29-35 to 38-35 with Green leading the way like he should’ve been doing all along
The funny thing is that the Sengun haters are actually diminishing how great Jalen has been during this stretch by somehow making it about Sengun not being there. If Jalen is that great, it's his own accomplishment - which is what I think. If he can't be great next to someone else who is also great - which is what the Sengun haters seem to say - then he is not great.
Dude, if we make it into the play-ins it will be a miracle. We are playing against some of the best back court players in the league these next handful of games: Luka, Ant, Steph, Jimmy It will be a success if the guys play together like they have been and don't start straying from the plan if thing go awry. The goal is to be proud of this season going into training camp next year. With the guys actually knowing each other prior to the start of the season it's going to be a big help and next season could be really awesome if everyone stays healthy and engaged.
For the team to succeed you need multiple stars. If Sengun doesn't pan out, still have to find another star big. Same with Jalen, if he doesn't pan out have to get another star guard to replace him. Their positions don't overlap. The fit thing is way overblown. Ime referenced this already on the recent radio interview. As far as title contention: Need a top 50, a top 20, and if the Lord willing a top 10 for an actual serious title run. Three of your 5 starters have to be tip top. Right now we don't have a top 10. Maybe Sengun or Green could become one. Maybe Stone can acquire one (low probability, as usually those guys are locked up). You don't just start throwing two of the guys away when you need at least 3. That 3rd guy could be a Bari, Cam, Tari or someone else. I'm also not against trade of any of the young core per se, when you can upgrade, but it's not easy. As those guys are rarely on the market, and you have to outbid the OKC's of the world to get them.
