No one said exact same. We’re running the same sets and plays. Nothing is stopping the team from getting out and running. Except opportunity, it’s what happens when you play teams that is shots.
Usage and offense are not mutually exclusive. Hes on the court more because hes making shots, his usage will go up then. Common sense. Someone has to fill in for the offense that you lose with Alp. Jalen isn’t taking different shots from a different offense, he’s just making them now
So, the offense isn’t the same. It’s more Jalen-centric than center-centric. And you can’t seem to grasp how that changes an offensive dynamic?
Green is averaging 5 - 6 more shots per game since Sengun’s injury, his usage rate has skyrocketed, but the offense hasn’t changed. Man, the mental gymnastics some have to employ on this board.
Are you slow? Serious question. You realize the offensive system doesn’t change, the player taking more shots WITHIN THE SYSTEM can change. Jalen making shots has him on the floor more. Which is a good thing.
You are obviously the slow one. You can run the same “sets,” but if the offense is generated through a guard rather than a center, the offense is different. The same offensive scheme with a guard as the number one option v. a center is different. How a defense guards is different. Points generated from a dump off vs. a drive show up similarly on a shot chart, but they are different. The fact that you can’t grasp that is baffling.
The fact that Ime himself has said they changed the offense up … and he still doesn’t want to admit it …
Wow. The offense is the same. Where the shots are coming from is a direct correlation with shot making and necessity. Your best player is out, so the next best option is going to take more shots WITHIN THE SAME SYSTEM. You said the offense was different. It isn’t. Simple concept. Jalen is playing 5 more minutes than his season average, and 8 more minutes than the month of February. Because he is making shots. End of story
honestly the offense looked awful last night, shot like 39 percent from the field against literal G Leaguers. The whole play fast thing didn't even work against Portland because they were bigger, younger and just as athletic. We got bailed out due to Jalen Green's heroics on defense and tough shot making, but it's pretty bad basketball overall. Sengun can generate a lot more consistent points in the half court sets. But I guess we don't really have too much of a choice but to play faster, because against better set defense, we don't get many easy shots with this depleted line up
You brought up pace. Your own stats showed you were wrong. You can look up passes, shot types and every other metric that are virtually identical to the season. The only thing that has changed is players that were missing shots are now making them. Amen has filled in the role of PNR guy. The post ups have been with Brooks and some Jabari. Greens shot profile is no different, he’s just making the shots he took before, which is keeping him on the court. All good things, perfect time to start making those shots
