I'm going to get knocked for this ... but I wouldn't be surprised if the Pacers went down in the semi-finals. I'm on the "Roy Hibbert is a little overrated bandwagon." Don't get me wrong, he's beastly defender when he's own his game, but when he isn't...the Pacers are very beatable. Also, people keep saying he's comparable or the level of Dwight Howard...c'mon now...Hibbert's not even up to snuff with the Gasol Bros. or Horford, when all three are healthy. He's about shoulder level with Cousins, but I would take Cousins as a player you could really build around...
Obviously they are overrated, they have the easiest schedule in the NBA. If the Pacers played the Rockets schedule, they'd probably have 10 fewer wins and they'd probably be underrated then.
I'm not too surprised this thread was started after the Pacers got beat like a rented mule last night. Keep in mind, they were on their 4th game in 5 nights. Remember what happened to the Rockets on their 4th-in-5 against OKC this season. Schedule notwithstanding, the Pacers are a little overrated, sure, if just because they've come back down to earth a bit, especially Paul George and Roy Hibbert. Until the Rockets beat them on Friday, I don't want to talk too much s*** about them.
I've been saying for a while now that their record likely wouldn't be nearly as impressive in the West. I think they're a solid team but they might be as low as the 6th seed if they played in the Western Conference.
roy hibbert is one of the most overrated players in the league. 11/7 shooting 46% the only reason people talk about him is because he puts up decent stats on the heat's small frontcourt and he gets away with that verticality rule more than any other player in the league
Yes and no. He is one of the best defenders at center position, as he does scare people away from the paint (in that aspect, he's fairly rated) ... BUT ... his offense stinks, especially for a modern day center. 46% is terrible for someone who doesn't shoot alot of jumpers. That's kind of problem with Pacers, he works well against undersized teams or front-lines with weak centers. In the West that wouldn't be the case, he'd have to face Cousins, Duncan/Splitter, Jordan/Griffin, Dwight, Bogut, Gasol, Bizzaro Gasol/Randolph, and Pekovic/Love ... 4 times a piece in a year (32 games). Even in the Atlanta series last year, he was getting served up by Al Horford who even out of position, maybe the best center in the East ... he got injured for the season. In fact, if I had to choose, I would take Al Horford over Roy Hibbert, easily.
hibbert is playing like a ****in p***y!! i drafted him for blocks AND REBOUNDS!!! stop rebounding like a p***y when ur 7'2 300lbs omfg wtf
they lost to the on the road, in Charlotte, playing their 4th game in 5 nights, with George playing injured (hard fall on his back) Sure they are slumping now, especially Hibbert, and they're "only" on pace to win 62 games, 13 more than last year
Definitely overrated. They're at #8 on the [Hollinger Power Rankings](http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/powerrankings) because they've had the third easiest schedule in the league to date. I'll be surprised if the Heat aren't in the Finals again coming out of the Least.
In their last games, Augustin and Green, 2 players who the Pacers moved because they werent useful producing off the bench have scored 67 and counting between them. Indiana as a team scored 87. I honestly don't get how Green couldn't even get much on the court as a backup for Indiana.
They are, but that isn't saying much imo. There's only one true championship contender in the Eastern conference... it's just terrible. Absolutely awful. You could argue there are 4 championship contenders in the West, by comparison.
