So he's a backup PF? What will be his niche in the NBA? Does he shoot, handle, defend, rebound, pass? Name a couple of NBA players that he reminds you of.

Why does he get so much coverage in the media? Seems like I hear commentators mention his name often. In the 9-10 minutes I saw today against Clemson, the word "overrated" came to mind. Another college guy in that category is Georgetown's Roy Hibbert. He ain't all that.

Well, mid-season ranking doesn't matter *that* much. It might if Memphis lose a couple of gimmies and end up fighting for that 1 seed in the tournament come March. But otherwise it's not a big deal. It's not as if the #1 overall seed always get the crappiest #2 or anything(not that it really makes THAT much of a difference).

Of course, jockeying for position in college basketball is pointless. Not when the bracket is arbitrarily determined right before the tournament.

Jockeying for position is always important, the higher your seed it the easier bracket you get. Yes, sometimes you don't always get the seed that you think you deserve and even what the polls say you deserve, but to say regular season rankings don't matter is false.

Anyway, memphis has proved that they are the true number 1 seed and have been for some time. It is a shame that college basketball always has duke or unc at the top with largely inferior teams.

If hansbrough is on a team with a great/good PF, he will be a backup. If not, he will be a starter. Not saying hasbrough will be as good, but reminds me of Boozer. Either too quick or too powerful for opposing big men at college level. He can shoot away from basket and has great touch around basket.
