    40K. Peanuts. :D

J/K. My first job out of college was less than that.

    RATE * 2020 = Annual Salary

    19.5 * 2020 = $39,390

The Rockets ruining my life...I've thought about it before. They've been pretty good to me on this streak, but over the past 9 or 10 years I've gotten depressed a lot over the outcomes of games. I go from inconsolably angry to downright depressed. I stay like that until the next time they win, or, when they lose in the playoffs, I'm in the dumps for about a month, month and a half.

Since its so tight in the Western Conference now I've been following every Spurs, Lakers, Mavs, Jazz, Suns, etc. game very closely. Watching them online. Then I spend around 2 hours a day on those teams' forums and 3+ hours on clutchfans. It definitely takes a toll on my studying, especially when I'm taking 18 hours this semester so I can graduate by next year.

The great thing about hanging your happiness on a sports team is the payoff. When you've gone through the lowest of the lows, you appreciate the highs of a 22-game win streak that much more.

I was helping my sister move and the rockets were coming on....so I worked twice as fast just to make tip-off ,and complained about how slow they were moving....then 15 mintues before tip-off I took off and didnt feel bad

I am a truck driver and I am in the middle of switching compaines...I told the new company that I am going to come in next week (because I have to see this week of the rockets) but i didnt tell them that

Teachers start at 40-45K for 9 months of (hard) work. (Translates to about $25 per hour for a 9-hour day.)

So much for the teachers being under-paid theory.

JK - starting salaries for teachers are good....they just don't go anywhere. Start making 45K....twenty years later you're making 55K!

Good choice! Money is HIGHLY overrated!

Unless, of course, you want to own a car, have a social life, NOT live under an overpass, etc. :)

I have dumbed down in my job. Before this streak got my attention I came to work knowing what I need to do and very focused on what needs to happen to get things done.

Now I freaking forget crap and get a little lost at times on where things stand. Forget about long term planning! It now all depends on how well the Rockets do the rest of the season. Hopefully I get myself back once this is all said and done. Also hope my boss is not reading this.

Ok, I should have clarified my situation a little better. LOL @ the comments though!

First, I am living back with my parents right now since I graduated 6 months early from my undergraduate university and in the process of deciding on which law school admission I am going to accept. So the job was only for the next 5 or 6 months and not in my long-term future plans. Considering the short-term plan for the job, $19.50 is a very high paying job! But I don't have a lot of expenses other than spending money when I go out with friends and gas money. I have already paid of my car so only thing I pay for in terms of transportation is gas and insurance. I go out often, but I also play poker a lot so that brings in extra income. :D

But seriously man, when I was in the office listen to the guy talk to me about the schedule, all I could think about was "Man! Rockets v. Celtics tomorrow!" I swear I could not think about anything else for some reason. As soon as one game is done, I start to get excited about the next game. The Houston Rockets are consuming every moment of my life. I think in part it has to do with the fact that I have followed the team for so long and put up with the disappointments after the championship years (and all the **** talking from the Laker fans) that I feel this is the moment for redemption! 22 ****ing wins in a row! 22! God, I can't wait until tomorrow's game!

Plus, I can always call my cousin and tell her to hook me up with a cashiering job at Victoria's Secret after this insane week. That way, I can create my own schedule and leave whenever I want. (It pays to have a cousin as store director ;) ). And I can help all the girls with their bras! ;)

Let's go Rockets! I had such a blast rubbing the Laker's victory in my family and friends faces.

P.S. During the game, one of my Laker friends called me in the second quarter and was like, "Who the **** is this Mike Harris guy?! Dude can ball!" LOL!!! And my response: "You haven't even seen our secret weapon: Carl Landry ;) !"

Best job in the world. The conversation always start with the girl saying: "Oh, I didn't know the hire guys to work here!" Then I insert a funny remark! Then BOOM! Like magic. :D
