LMAO! i did the same thing. I was on a Cruise from 3/8-3/13 and man i watched CNN in my little cabin on board to see the final score for the Rox. games. Hell i even paid some ridiculous amount of money to use the Cruises online to see updates on the Rox. Damn .44 cents a min. for online usage pwned me, but my Rox won so i dont care
Should have taken the job. If you use the same policy, you are going to be unemployed for the next couple of months, cause they ain't gonna lose. Or take a job and quit when playoffs start.
Ruining my life? I can't focus at work. But thinking about making $19.50/hr scares me to death that I'm gonna get back to work! Also, I just spent $154 on tickets for Bobcats/Lakers after driving down from Dallas to see the games. $154 for tickets $150 in gas $70 in misc stuff $20 to dye my goatee red (& it turn out hot pink) Watching the Rockets live while hanging with the Red Rowdies & screaming at Lakers fans & doing Rowdy Chants on ESPN: PRICELESS
Not everyone has tivo/dvr. I commend you for your loyalty to the Rockets. That is a true fan right there. So who is going to top this one?
It's definitely taking its toll on me. I get so worked up during live games that I turn into a jerk to anyone around me. As soon as someone does something inadvisable on the court, I start cursing a blue streak. For that reason, I just Tivo games now and only watch the wins, because I am much more calm when I know the outcome is a good one. Anyway, what this means is that I don't usually start watching a game until after it is over...which on most nights is around 10:00 pm central. Well, even skipping through commercials, halftime and free throws, it still takes close to an hour and a half to watch a game, so I end up going to sleep around or after midnight when I have to wake up 4-5 hours later. The lack of sleep is taking its toll, man. I'm feeling it. Yesterday was nice because watching the game after it was over didn't effect my sleep at all. But most games are not like that.
Loyalty ain't gonna matter if you can't pay the bills. Call them back and ask for the job back and tell them you had some family stuff that you had to take care of. If I miss a game, I watch the highlights they post on clutchfans. It's all good. DVR is even better... That said, I haven't been able to get much work done either. Good luck.
Get a Sales Job. Less work MORE PAY and play!!! But really, you should invest in a DVR. Either way...Much respect my friend.
You are insane if Rockets was the only reason for you to give up that job. OTOH, 19.5/hour, there are plenty jobs better than that, so it wasnt worth your time anyways. BTW, I will have the next 3 years not being able to watch the Rockets or check here as often as I do now.
I got a laptop in my geogrphy class and i watched rockets high lights all class long and I missed the class lesson for that day lol
