    Apparently a bunch of us still love to make fun of him. It's only a matter of time until Parsons is not even considered by the rest of the league as highly as Kevin Martin is. Chandler's defense has become as bad as at any time in his career and as bad as Harden's defense last season. Kevin Martin was a much better scorer than Chandler and it wasn't long after he received his big contract that the league turned on him and decided he was significantly over paid and overrated.

    You live in Dallas crash5179, right? So I'll defer to your take on this.

    But that third quote is perfectly fine. It's not babying at all. It's praise for effort when sick. That is a good coaching technique to point out to the team those type of efforts.

    Now, if you can point out the Parsons actually had a poor defensive game as well, and Carlisle was making that up, then that's closer to babying.

    HP, this is all about take jabs at Parsons when we can. Just like the photoshopped picture of CP a few posts back, we choose to exaggerate the truth about CP for affect.

    I would gladly have CP on the Rockets because he is a really good player. But since he left the Rockets at the alter, I'll take my jabs when I can. It's pretty much all in fun anyway. Having said that, it does seem Carlisle has been a bit cautious when discussing Chandler in the media since he made the "out of shape" comment. I don't think it's due to any edict from Cuban though, Cuban loves Carlisle.

    The quote from Carlisle about CPs defense and feeling bad felt like he was trying to deflect any possible critism for the 1 of 11 shooting performance.

    To be fair, babying is how you treat your superstars. Did JVG ride T-Mac for his lack of defense? No. Because T-Mac was a superstar. Gotta keep him happy. Carlisle is just doing the same thing, making sure the star of the team doesn't get too down.

    thats about the only thing i can feel bad for. dirk is good player and all around one of the best. I still hate the mavs, but i like dirk. so i do feel bad that the guy took a paycut and got parsons in return. If i was dirk, i would be upset. Especially after his 1-9 night.

    You're actually taking a jab at Carlisle more than you are Parsons.

    No it didn't. It read like all quotes about people playing while sick read. He did his best for the team.

    I don't see why you have to question Carlisle's intentions in order to take jabs at Parsons. You're basically saying Carlisle all of a sudden became a bad coach because of Parsons.

    This is why stars should never take that much of a discount. A Dwight discount is a huge discount already, Dirk discount is just crazy.
