Placed my first sports bet ever yesterday... $2 on the Cardinals to win the Superbowl at 31-to-1 odds. High stakes, I know. LOL I think they're for real.
I agree. The Rams aren't that bad. I think they'll beat Arizona tonight in a close, low-scoring game.
And arguably the worst franchise in NFL/AFL history. You know you're a bad franchise when a 9-7 Super Bowl season is one of the best in your history
Watching this game, it's clear that unless Kolb improves drastically, Arizona is not one of the league's best teams. He's playing well but a couple crucial misthrows have hurt Arizona so far in St. Louis.
That might be true, but I think their oline is a bigger problem. No pass protection and the lack of running game is very much on the oline. Cards shouldn't be losing yards on so many of their rushing attempts.
There was one Williams rush attempt where he ran straight into the center because he was already backed up 2 yards before Williams got the ball. This O-Line has got to be street free agents.
You're right about the o-line and run game but he made some mistakes that with a better/more experienced QB could have been TD's. By my count, there were three: a throw over a receiver's wrong shoulder that would have been a home run for a TD otherwise, a pass the next drive that had he thrown from about the 35 to the corner of the end zone was likely to be a TD and throwing the ball short of the end zone on fourth and goal from the 5. None of those had anything to do with anyone else and that he needs to become a better decision maker. It's easy to criticize and Jeff Fisher has coached up the Rams but it's clear, unless Kolb improves or Skelton comes back in and is a revelation, the Cards may not even be a playoff team, especially as tough as their division is.
It's not Kolb's fault he has no time to throw. They also have no run game with Beanie out and the o-line giving Ryan Williams literally nothing to work with. Has to be the worst O-Line i've seen in the last 2 or 3 years.
My first time to see Arizona all year. I think I was right about Petersen, he's good, but so far away from the shutdown corner the media plays him out to be. Maybe next year he'll be on that level but he isn't right now. He's definitely good though, upper second tier, Finnegan (sigh) is better. Their o-line stinks man, the playcalling seems whack to me (I like Whiz too), no screen plays? Arizona isn't "for real" much less good.
I think what got most people's attention was the win in Foxboro, which simply doesn't happen against Tom Brady especially to start the year. Then they destroyed an overrated Philly team that could very easily be 0-4 and it really got lucky last week because Kolb played poorly until he had to against the Dolphins. Maybe this was just an off week and they'll come back stronger next but 3 points is a real eye opener. Their D is good but not the 2000 Ravens either.
Kolb is only as good as his OLine will let him be. Kurt Warner would be working on his 9th subdural hematoma if he were their QB still.
Agreed but Kolb missed Williams in the flat with 8-12 yards cushion at least twice and that last play to Fitz - no chance to win the game with that decision.
