Are the bigs favored too much over the others?

I keep seeing and reading about Cassell working with the Clips' guards. I thought about us having Dream, but wondered why we don't have someone working with our guards, too? Might as well. It can't hurt.

Dream is great, especially for Capela, but what about Johnson and Kostas? Would Beverley be a little better with a mentor he can identify with? Would Canaan have been? Could Brewer have benefited from some work with Clyde, just enough to clean up his game some.

McHale was a big and so are our two developmental coaches. Maybe Les can bring in Mario next year, also? Anyone seen Clyde work with anyone? I think Murph has, but it should be nice too have someone who's played more recently.

We need our own Sam Cassell (Tinman falls in faint).

I'm sure somewhere Clip fans are having the same conversation talking about how if Griffen had the Rockets coaching bigs he would be the best player ever

    T-mac should teach them.

    Tinman faints again.

Maybe..but watching them just triggered a thought. It's not really about the Clippers. It's just odd that the Rockets believe so much in the d league to develop guys and then bring in Dream for the bigs, but the rest don't get the same one on one treatment, at least not from ex-players at their position. You'd think Morey would be all over that, as much as he seems to values improvement.

We've got Elie tweeting his butt off and Horry making appearances. Tmac going to games. Seems like they'd have a little time each week for it. I wonder if the Rockets have sought players out and just been turned down?

Isn't our best player by far a shooting guard?

Are you implying he's developed into that here, from their help, or that he should help develop the other guards?

Not exactly what I'm referring to, in either case. Harden was really good since day one.

DMo, Dwight, Jones, and Capela all get one on one sessions with Dream. They look at video with him. He's been where they want to be. I doubt Harden can devote that much time towards the guards or or provide the kind of experience a 10 yr+ vet could.

Really, I think Cassell would be great for Nick, but he's tied up with LA.

Harden is our most improved player. Are you saying Harden didn't improve? Next to him is Capella. You'd be a fool to not want to focus on developing Clint.

And why do you assume Beverley wasn't always good to his potential. Some players realize potential very quickly. Pat is one of them. Did we fail him

You are reaching on some theory and don't want to listen to other takes, as if yours is fact

Doesn't seem like we are ignoring our guards. They just aren't that good

The sad truth. Besides Harden, our guards are old, or in dire need of a hell of a lot of work in a venue not associated with the playoffs.

How am I reaching? Bigs get a lot of extra help because of McHale and Dream. That's just a fact. It's very a very different and valuable experience guards can't get from JB or Finch.

I don't want to listen to what takes? Yours? It seems like you're just misunderstanding what I'm asking.

Who said they're ignoring the guards? I asked if they were favoring the bigs too much over them, not that they weren't being helped. My post mostly referred to the young guys. Not Harden. Sure, he needed improvement, but he wasn't raw coming in, like Capela, Nick, and Kostas and even Jones. He was a lot more established.

That being said, Harden would only benefit, from help from a hall of famer that played his position.

I'm bumping this because I think this is a better time to discuss this, now that the off season has started for us.

Nick Johnson doesn't look like he benefited very much from the time he spent in RGV. His confidence isn't there offensively.
