cd never traded potential for a flatliner. When u think about Francis, mobley, taylor, cato, griffin were all young "potential" type of guys. There isn't one trade u can point to to say cd would trade a high lotto pick for a flatliner.

I think alot of GMs have been looking like fools every trade they make with us. That could have been the thing with Memphis and getting the number 2 pick. They figured last year the Morey got a steal and Memphis baited us to show are cards.

Talent evaluation and fleecing someone in a trade are two different things. I don't recall a trade including Artest where the other team got fleeced. The closest you could say is the Scola trade, but make no mistake they had a reason to make that trade to get out from under some money owed and it was the best deal on the table. The Lakers fleeced Memphis for Pau. I don't think Morey has fleeced anyone yet.

I guess you forget who we traded to get Eddie Griffin... Richard Jefferson, Jason Collins and Brandon Armstrong... Or that we picked up Bryce Drew and Mirsad Turkan both when Rashard Lewis was begging to be a Houston Rocket. I would say CD had alot more bust picks than good ones in the post championship years.

from 1995-2005 CD's draft picks and draft day trades include:

    Erik Meek
    Othella Harrington
    Randy Livingston
    Terell Bell
    Roderick Rhodes
    Serge Zwikker
    Micheal Dickerson
    Bryce Drew
    Mirsad Turkcan
Cuttino Mobley (at 41 was one of his best picks)
    Steve Francis via trade
    Kenny Thomas
    Tyrone Washington
    Venson Hamilton
Joel Przybilla (traded to Milwaukee for Jason Collier and a future first-round pick)
Eduardo Nájera (traded to Dallas with future second-round pick for Dan Langhi)
Eddie Griffin (traded to Houston for Richard Jefferson, Jason Collins and Brandon Armstrong)
    Yao Ming
    Boštjan Nachbar
    Tito Maddox
    Malick Badiane
Luis Flores (rights traded for the rights to Vasileios Spanoulis)

The Rockets traded the #21 pick in the 2004 draft along with Glen Rice, and two future second-round draft picks (from Chicago; #51 in the 2005 NBA Draft and #46 in the 2006 NBA Draft) to the Jazz for John Amaechi and the #55 pick (received from Sacramento in the Keon Clark trade) on September 30, 2003.

    Luther Head
    Chuck Hayes (undrafted free agent)

How many of those guys are even in the league any more, or ever contributed anything worth while? Maybe 4 or 5 over 10 years?
