Maybe there is a reason why this forum is split on the Mcgrady case, some love him some hate him. But what stands out the most is that the guys who hate him really feel they have superior minds and can tell right away Mcgrady is done for when in reality we dont know. We just dont know, and wont know for another half a season and a summer. We could have worked him into the lineup because we are "retooling" not rebuilding and many have said we wont win it all this year so why not do our selves a favor by atleast seeing if our star or ex star can still play. We wont know if he can play or not untill he is in another uniform but if Mcgrady actually turns out to be healthy then we might just be kicking ourselves. And in agreement with the "haters" yall may be right, he is just done for but we never even gave him the benefit of the doubt. I am tired of these T-Mac threads as anyone and I do hope he is gone asap so we wont have to argue about this any longer but I get the feeling T-Mac talk will last for years to come on this board....
The Rockets with or without Yao are missing a wing who can score the ball efficiently and often. McGrady is not that. Next question.
Why aren't folks asking why Jermaine Taylor cant get more playing time. He only gets about 6-8 minutes per game(if he plays at all). Yet the Rockets staff can see where he is making his mistakes and what he needs to improve to get more PT. He's a rookie so you work with him and he continues to improve. McGrady is in a similar situation but is not a rookie and is not showing the staff what they expect to see out of him. The staff has already given him a pass on explosiveness. So that's not the reason for benching him. They have tangible things that they expected of him and were not seeing them. It's really quite simple.
I agreee with you, and you forgot to mention Wade with the Heats. I am dissappointed in both parties of this dispute. I am dissappointed in T Mac for not sticking to his words and not ask to be trade and just keep his head down longer and work hard( though I can see where he is coming from). I am also disappointed in Adelman for not trying his absolute best to keep T Mac, though I can also see why he did what he did. To me it was all just a huge disappointment. Had T Mac been more patient, had Adelman been a bigger man, had the Rocket Org made a definite statement on T Mac's future, had the fans been more forgiving, had Tim Grover been more realistic, had the other players spoken out, it might just have all worked out.
I thought it was hilarious that Taylor suddenly got minutes in big games while Tracy was trying to get on the court, then stopped as soon as the organization sent McGrady away.
It has already been said plenty of times that Tracy and the Rockets are parting. Even though I would like to see Tracy back in a Rockets uniform this season or in the future, the chances of that are very very very very slim to none. Hopefully we sign somebody next season to help build around our offense next season and I hope the best to Tracy McGrady.
I'll say it once and I will say it again, McGrady as he is now, can't produce much better then anyone we already have on the roster. Thus the Rockets don't need to sacrifice minutes for him to rehab on the court just for his ego or just to show how he isn't 100%. A prime example would be last year in the finals, the Magic got to the playoffs with Rafer Alston starting at PG, come the final round, the GM or Coach, decide they HAD to play Jameer Nelson despite the fact that it was obvious he wasn't 100% or even 65% and pretty much gave Nelson most of the minutes in the game. The Magic lost that final and there is no real telling if playing Alston more would have helped them win, but Alston obviously wouldn't have turned the ball over as much because Nelson was looking very much like he was playing with one arm throughout that series. McGrady doesn't look like he is playing with one arm, but if he was any where near the star or superstar he once was, he'd be on the court. Obviously, from the 8 minutes he was getting a game, he isn't because when put one on one against quality opponents like Denver and Orlando he didn't do jack offensively or defensively.
I voted yes, but if we make a trade for the likes of Brad Miller and some garbage time fodder then we absolutely messed up the entire situation. If we turn McGrady's big expiring deal on a rent-a-star basis into younger talent that's ready to contribute then we made the right decision...even if we take on salary. I think the role players in Houston are amongst the elite class in the NBA. We need at least one real scorer on the wing, and of course Yao needs to come back healthy.
alright im tired of this Tmac hate....i been following him since he moved from orlando, i even moved to texas just to follow him. The reality is that tmac is still a capable player to start over any of these rockets especially ariza. there is no better player out there that we can get, and when i say we cant get, we cant. Sure there players out there wade lebron and melo and roy and the list goes on, but wat ya dont realize is that they are on their team already they are not leaving those teams. ok i hear igoudala, who else larry hughes, john salmons , tyrus thomas, are u kidding me! they are not better than a injured limping mcgrady. I would rather see tmac taking the shots ariza is takin right now, we already have a good defender in battier, ariza is no shutdown defender, he is just a lanky player with long arms. Tmac is still able to rise up on anybody and get his shot off on anyone. Ariza cant must i bring up that stupid fadeaway three against the hornets the othen er day. is just stupid how a bunch of ya criticize tmac when we haven seen him play a good amount of minutes.
One thing I hate is the Rocket Org.'s INCONSISTENT plan for the future. First they say they want to rebuild for the future, and this season is pretty much a test run, then why not play T Mac like 20+mpg and see where it goes. Then, they say T Mac will not work in their future game style, but they then gave Ariza the green light to do what they won't let T Mac do. If there is any chance for either player to become a great player, I will put my money on T Mac. He has the talent, he just needs to work hard. I think it was this inconsistency that pissed T Mac off and asked to be traded. Just my view.
no i have family here, which makes it more easier, and im a basketball player. texas basketball is way better than florida basketball is more competitive here
