I think its funny how OWNED Ric has been in this thread.

Through out history great leaders have inspired others to greatness and risen to positions of great power and glory...

    but leadership doesn't matter.

    what are you? 12?

"How could we still be content with THE MAN OF THE PRESENT DAY after such outlooks, and with such a craving in our conscience and consciousness? Sad enough; but it is unavoidable that we should look on the worthiest aims and hopes of the man of the present day with ill-concealed amusement, and perhaps should no longer look at them. Another ideal runs on before us, a strange, tempting ideal full of danger, to which we should not like to persuade any one, because we do not so readily acknowledge any one's RIGHT THERETO: the ideal of a spirit who plays naively (that is to say involuntarily and from overflowing abundance and power) with everything that has hitherto been called holy, good, intangible, or divine; to whom the loftiest conception which the people have reasonably made their measure of value, would already practically imply danger, ruin, abasement, or at least relaxation, blindness, or temporary self-forgetfulness; the ideal of a humanly superhuman welfare and benevolence, which will often enough appear INHUMAN, for example, when put alongside of all past seriousness on earth, and alongside of all past solemnities in bearing, word, tone, look, morality, and pursuit, as their truest involuntary parody--and WITH which, nevertheless, perhaps THE GREAT SERIOUSNESS only commences, when the proper interrogative mark is set up, the fate of the soul changes, the hour-hand moves, and tragedy begins..."

WTF? Of course leaders can inspire others to raise their performance, even in sports. I just spent the last semester, in a class called "The Art of Leadership", studying several theories and examples that prove this. Yes, usually the leadership in question is coming from a coach, but still, players can have this ability, too.

I think the real issue we should be debating here is whether or not David Carr is a leader... or just a manager. Unfortunately, we don't have enough info about his off-the-field relationships with the rest of the team to really tell how he affects them during a game.

There certainly *is* a difference between leaders and managers! That said, looking at the way the games go, I think it's possible David has become *neither* on the NFL field. Could he become a good game manager and beyond that a good leader on the field? I don't know, but more and more it seems Kubiak doesn't trust him as a game manager, much less as a leader.

Even if I was 12 I wouldn't be so short sighted to think that leadership doesn't matter.

Your lack of acceptance that you are completely wrong on this issue, resulting in you trying to dodge questions and insult others seems like a person who knows they are wrong and is just too hard headed to acknowledge the facts.

Your actions are much like a 12 year old you try to accuse me of being.

I would not be suprised that by the end of this season there is a pissing match over who's poop smells better...David Carr or Vince Young.

(The answer, of course, is neither...because Vince Young is so amazing that he doesn't poop)

He's had plenty of chances, obviously he won't admit he's wrong. Not worth discussing issues with.
