Some might argue that the real hubris is thinking we can (or should) interfere with nature. Some species die off because of other species. It's been happening long before humans. I really doubt a few less pandas will have a noticeable effect on anything.
Please. We kill off species, dam rivers, cut forests, pollute oceans, destroy ecosystems, and spew all kinds of crap into the air. We do interfere with nature. Relentlessly so.
