It seems like Protestants only grudgingly accept Catholics in the fold of the church anyway, don't really identify with them, and are always tsk-tsking the Catholics anyway. If anything, the scandals and the church politics is a temptation to self-righteousness and to looking down their noses again on the Catholic church, and justifying all over again the Protestant revolution. So, no, I don't think they'd feel so much embarassed as vindicated.

I have to ask texxx, why is it when other posters would say the same thing about Catholicism you have attacked them as being leftist anti- Christians, but then you bring up the conversation and reveal that they are indeed an embarrassment to you? the reason why I ask is because i think the conversation is valid. it's valid when anyone asks it.
