Who knows... probably not too accurate. You'll also burn more calories later just by having your metabolism sped up for the next few hours and having more muscle, so all benefits are not immediate. I wonder what it does if you, ummm, don't quite tell it the real truth about your weight when you punch in the numbers. I should be doing elliptical every day, if I have time. I would be more likely to if it weren't so... boring. Exactly. Our TVs are set to certain channels that I would not have chosen on my own. I can talk on the phone, but then my arms aren't available for using the ones with the handles. Outside of buying expensive gadgets to fix these things... I guess I should get my Ipod fixed, if I can find it.
technically, the heavier you are, the more calories you burn when you run because you are moving more weight (doing more mechanical work).
What I've noticed is the calorie count on my stationary bike is entirely dependent upon the speed at which I'm going. If I increase resistance, making it much harder to ride the bike and cause my heart rate to go up, it doesn't seem to matter. The only thing that makes the calories go higher is the speed, even if it's easier that way. Maybe that's the way it should work, I don't know enough about it. It seems to disregard my pulse entirely.
Your songs are shorter than mine...I generally hit the one hour mark on the 15th song (unless American Pie comes on)
