I'm contemplating buying these headphones for $229. http://www.beatsbydre.com/products/Products.aspx?pid=B5800&cat=1 Anyone with experience with these headphones tell me if they're worth buying or not? Thanks.
They're good but your just paying for the brand. You can get headphones that are just as good, even better for much cheaper. So it depends if you want to pay the extra change for the "coolness" and mainstream factor.
Let's see: Monster: Check. Celebrity Endorsement: Check. Expensive: Check My guess that you're spending too much for the quality.
I have a pair, and let me tell you, IT IS GREAT. I got the black colored ones and the sound quality is amazing. I don't know if I would have paid $229 for them (got them as a gift).. But it does enhance the music greatly.
Beats are more of a fashion item than a music item, really. It's a good set of headphones, but for that price, you're paying for a label.
It's a good deal if you want dumb people to think you're cool. This is the case with most overpriced items.
not for that much money. I think they are overrated personally but they look cool. My buddy has an endorsement from Monster and is getting me some for half price. I'll do it for half price.

No. Search CF for past headphone threads as well HeadFi like Xerobull said, and you'll see why. Dozens of alternatives that have better sound (not just bass), and some that are much cheaper too.
Agreed. Put in a bit more money and get the studios, I have them and I love em'. But the solo's are def. not worth $230. In fact, I probably wouldn't even pay more than $100 for them. The reason I even got the studio's was because a friend of mine works at bestbuy and they get really good discounts on Monster products. Wayyyyyy overpriced.
Def overpriced, I got mine for $110... definitely worth that price, but I don't think they're worth the retail price. They are great headphones though. I'm sure there are better ones out there for cheaper.
Your better off buying something else. If you want people to know you have money to spend sure buy the Beats. But if you really want decent sounding headphones buy something else. For $230, any other comparable alternative probably has better sound. Most reviews can attest to how terrible they sound relative to its price. http://www.head-fi.org/forum/list/4 A good place to ask for advice
