It turns out, the people that Bandwagoner disagrees with in his own experience are all morons. It's amazing.
Christians/Mormons/Muslims etc. spread their message because they believe that if you receive their message you will be saved or live a better life. Athiests spread their message to make fun of the above mentioned groups for believing in "fairy tales" So yes, I would consider an atheist with a booth a "hata"
So Atheists wear hats while worshipping! So what? Where's the crime? Aren't we all objects, when you get right down to it, like hats? Besides, I think hats might make a comeback. You know, all those Boomers losing their hair, worrying about UV rays and the like. Gotta put something up there, and how hard is it to segue that thought into a discussion of (drum roll) is there something up there?
There are more types of people who are Atheists than there are Christians Muslims etc. Some believe religion is dangerous and should be banished. Militaristic Aetheists. Some believe it is benign, or possibly helpful. Many though turn to atheism to legitimize their pseudo-intellectual persona. Want to argue with Christians all the time and are jerks. The main difference between them and evangelicals is that evangelicals are saying you are a moron to your face. So while they think you will burn in hell they are polite until God tells them to kill you.
My two cents ... not all atheists are the same, saying all atheists are haters reflects your state of mind. I used to pass by state planned parenthood clinic everyday to school. I saw how people picket there and try to prevent young women enter there. If intrusiveness is the standard, I would imagine it's the other way around in terms hating.
BTW, why is it Okay to come to my porch every Sunday to preach and why is it not Ok once that preaching session turns into something they don't like to hear?
Pushy but not really condescension. Some atheists want to create a culture to paint religion as equal to flat earthers. To do that requires public shame and basically condescension. They are superior to religion. In religion, God is superior to everyone. So third person condescension I guess.
Went to a Memorial Day service at a military cemetery. Politicians were there. Veterans were there. Just about every speech was about God. One politician went on about how we're a Judeo-Christian nation, and founded as such. There were prayers read. No, it was not explicitly a Christian service by any means. I wonder... what about the Muslim deceased veterans? The Jewish? The Buddhist? The Hindu? The atheist? Where were the prayers and well-wishes for their beliefs? Nowhere. I imagine if someone brought a prayer rug and bowed to Mecca to honor the fallen Muslim soldiers, people would cry terrorist. Why do Christians have to keep selling their stories at cemeteries for fallen soldiers? Why do you keep having to tell everyone you're right and the country is founded on your specific beliefs? You don't. But just like the atheist booth, you do anyway. TL;DR - F#@$ all of you proselytizing motherf#@$ers; atheist, Christian... whatever. Especially the hypocrites.
Apparently the girls are supposed to feel guilty about making money. What kind of religion is this? Socialism?
What you don't really seem to understand is that it's just as insulting for an atheist to be told they're going to hell for not believing in God as it might be for a Christian to be told there's no God. Christians just aren't as used to taking it as they are at dishing it out. The tide is turning however. There's no difference in a Christian spreading his message because he believes if you receive his message you'll be saved or live a better life as there is an atheist promoting his message because he believes you'll be saved or live a better life.
This is garbage. Religions are pretty good at making people (even children) feel like miserable trash - meanwhile there are plenty of happy atheists out there - especially those that were religious and gave it up. Nothing wrong with truth. If you feel bad about yourself when others refuse to believe in magic sky beings - that's probably your own conscience speaking.
Nah. Create a culture where people decide for themselves, without being deemed rude, just like they can about the earths shape, rather than be indoctrinated as kids and be labeled a hater for even suggesting that that's probably not a great idea.
I didn't know they were supposed to feel bad about making money, never seemed that way. Especially with some posting up shop outside legal mar1juana distilleries. But i guess you should take that up with the scouts and not dance around the fact that Christians would be upset at a Muslim booth. I liked it....
I suppose I worded it poorly, I'm not necessarily supportive of religious booths at a non religious event either, I just understand their goal more than I do an atheist booth.
