"Ready to Start" is clearly the best song on this album... songs like.... "city with no children" and "month of may"
That (The Suburbs) really is an outstanding song. I was also unaware of their local roots. Pretty cool. I will probably wait til the album drops, but will be getting it for sure. There were some songs on the last album I really liked, but I still feel more partial to the older ones.
I've listened to this album for the past 5 hours straight. I'm on caffeine pills. My favourite tracks are: Ready to Start City with No Children We Used to Wait Sprawl II I'm thinking this gets a Pitchfork 9.0 at least. This album might change the world. I wasn't even a big Arcade Fire fan before this, especially after the release of Neon Bible. BBC UK is calling this album better then OK Computer. http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/reviews/nm4z
GTFOH. I like Arcade Fire, but lets slow down on the ridiculous statements. At least until this gets some play. I know you didn't write it, but come on. The other thing is the Brits are not very big on Radiohead so they would say some dumb $#!+ like that. This album better be epic now.
Yeah I read that OK Computer comparison the other day and was thinking whooaa nelly. Slow the hell down BBC. The Suburbs is really great though.
Sprawl II is just...wow. That and City With No Children are the early leaders for me. And even though we've been hearing it for the last few weeks, I have to say I really really love the title track.
i didnt take it to mean he was saying it was a better album than ok computer, but that ok computer is generally regarded as radiohead's 'statement'/'defining' album and that the suburbs is arcade fire's, but there is more to it than that. i predict pitchfork gives it a 9.13685 loved funeral and their performance at acl on that tour was one of the best sets ive ever seen a band play, despite the 105 degree heat and the fact that the audience was facing into the sun. but i thought neon bible was incredibly boring. this ones getting alot of hype so i will definitely check out though.
Neon Bible is a grower. I didn't really care for it either when I first listened to it, but I played it two or three more times and began to really like it. This is like Funeral, where the first time I heard it, it really caught my attention
rock wise arcade fire and silversun pickups are the only bands that i truly want and have to listen to whatever they have as soon as it comes out. tool and interpol used to be there a long time ago but they dropped off.
The first time I listened to OK Computer I was so ****ed up, I left it on repeat and listened to it for like 4 straight hours until I passed out. It changed my life man.
I don't think so. The single is up as well as a 1 seed torrent of The Suburbs. What am I gonna do with a 1 seed torrent?
