What types of issues have you guys had that have upgraded to 4.0? And why don't you go back to 3.1.1?

Because going back isn't that easy. Took me six hours of researching and try every single tutorials and still couldn't go back. But that was a couple of weeks ago so I'm not sure if there's a new way to getting it to work. Some got their working but most others are getting the error when trying to go back to the older version. I pretty much given up on it since I find the OS4 isn't as bad after like reinstalling about a dozen times. I might reinstall it and jailbreak it without the annoying useless multitasking function.

That's for the 3Gs version and another problem is that I have the IOS4 GM version. Even upgrading from the IOS4 GM to Apple's legit version still didn't solve the downgrading. I"m fine with it at the moment and I'm not going to spend hours getting a headache trying to solve this and jailbreak and reinstall everything again.

With your hatred of Apple, their products and their service, why do you have any Apple products?

I might be able to field this question, because hands down, with its defects and limitations as of this moment in time the iPhone is the best phone on the market. While I myself may not like Apple when it comes to computing I will gladly admit when it comes to accessories they have the market cornered. The iPod changed everything, and the iPhone once again. Hell, the iPhone almost made me consider buying a mac because it was so amazing.

... However, now the shimmer has faded. The iPhone 3gs will most likely be the last apple product I own for a while.

CB- Thanks for toning down the debate. Info is good. Info+vitriol = opinion. It's why I steer clear of the D&D. Too much personal angst.

I don't want to hack a phone to fix bugs/performance problems I didn't create only to have the possibility of screwing it up altogether happen. :)

That, and I think I'll probably have a new phone within the next couple of weeks. To be honest if the latest OS hadn't turned my phone into a crackhead turtle of a device, I'd probably just keep using it.

Built in? That would've really made it hefty... and the sleek metal design (which I've grown to love since I first hated it) is what makes the phone's beauty.

haha you don't see the irony in this? you can only look at the sleek metal design if it's not in a bumper..and if it's not in a bumper..it doesn't work. in fact Jobs said he wished more people had put it in a bumper because then we wouldn't be having all these problems.

there has to be a balance between beauty and usability.

Well that's due to their antenna design, they could've reverted back to their old antenna and still kept the sleek design. I see what you're saying though.. with this new antenna system, they should've made the bumper built-in. Personally, I think I'd get a case that covers the whole back and the sides just because I don't trust the bumper enough.

To be fair, if you block the antenna of any phone, you will lose signal.

Just don't think I have ever seen a phone which has an antenna placed on a commonly touched area.

You are right, he is a douche for not admitting that it is a design flaw yet giving out free cases (contradictory?)

The funny thing about this is that Apple later tried to say "everybody's phones do this", to which companies like HTC, Nokia, etc. lashed back at Apple. Nokia said if it's a decision between beauty and antenna functionality for them, then functionality will always win :

RIM tried to tear Apple a new one :

i like how everyone is trying extra hard to test each phone in all kind of weird ways to say LOOK, THIS DOES IT TOO!

also i like how Jobs found 3 irrelevant phones so he can compare his #1 selling smartphone to them. droid eris? omnia?

the iphone honestly is one of the best phones out there right now.

so instead of running away from the problem and pointing at others..all they had to say was it's a design they chose that benefited more people from the better reception. it's unfortunate that some people will be affected by it..so they can use a case.

apple on the other hand acts like a lil baby ..aw no why is the media picking on us? is it a coincidence we decided to sell a bumper with this iphone? whay whay..
