This is what I read too, that Apple is having trouble getting vital parts for the new screen so production is limited to about 1 million units per month.
After using my phone for 24 hours I can't tell you how much I love it. It is so much faster than my old iphone. The camera is really really good.
If it were only an hour... . A co-worker pre-ordered and stood in line for five hours starting at 3pm the day they went on sale. I think he's crazy. That's okay. I don't have to understand it. I understand parts of it...but the only way I'm waiting that long in line is if I have a gun to my head being forced to. Even then...I might make a run for it. lol.
Mine is coming in the mail. I understand why people would wait in the lines but thats just not for me. But I do camp out for Black Friday...(why?...just chilling with my friends). Have done it 4 years straight. Its just turned into something we do.
Lol, well good luck to you! I've never had such trouble finding a phone. Kind of shocking. With so much demand, I don't see why Apple doesn't raise the prices. Obviously I love that they're 200, but I'm sure they wouldn't sell too many less if it cost a little more.
I got to a local ATT store at 7am on tuesday. Waited in line for about an hour and 15 minutes, spent another 15 minutes in the store and then was at work on time by 9. A very painless experience. My daughter turns 10 tomorrow and wants an ipod touch for her birthday but now she's getting my old iphone instead and she's super excited. Thats the main reason I went ahead and waited in line to get one.
I use itunes to buy some new music but years ago I started to digitize my cds so I have a lot of music that is digital that I paid for that was not purchased through iTunes and it plays just like any other music on my iphone. Use itunes to import (digitize) your cd's to your music library then create play lists and sync them with your phone.
How can you like a phone a lot that you don't own and probably haven't even got your hands on before? They want it because it's apple, and apple makes solid products. But I've been to one of those lines before. It's not just a line. It's a whole little Apple fanboy atmosphere. I wasn't bashing it. I think they make fine products and I've owned several of them. It's no different than people who wait in lines for movie/sports/game releases. If you're lining up for 5+ hours you're a fanboy. It's not an insult, it is what it is.
I've owned an iPhone since the original launch. I'm pretty sure I get why people like the 4th generation one. And I'm pretty sure most of those people, even the first time adopters, see the features and like what they see. Is it really that hard to believe?
It's not the same phone, but I understand what you're saying. If you'll meet me halfway on my point I'll meet you on yours.
Maybe this was true of the initial launch but when I waited in line yesterday it was a varied group who wanted to buy the new phone. Girl in front of me had dropped her 3g in the toilet in the bar on saturday night and left it there. The guy behind me bought and activated 5 32gb iphones, one for him, one for the wife, and one for each daughter. They were switching over from blackberry's. I'd hardly consider either one of them fanboys. I'm probably as big of an apple supporter as there is on here. I've worked on them for more than 15 years doing design and print production. I've never had a bad product from apple. But I don't just buy things because of the name and I can admit when things can be improved (come on and give me my flash support on my iphone damnit!!!) but over all Apple makes quality hardware and supports it with a mostly trouble free user friendly experience.
Websites that are fully built in flash. Front page of clutchfans for example has flash content that doesn't display. Once you get use to it it's not a deal breaker. Websurfing is still better than anything else I've seen (I haven't seen an android so I can't compare) A lot of sites use flash to display video (like hulu and uh p*rn sites I heard) There is now a hulu app for the iphone but part of it is for a pay service. A lot of video is being built using HTML 5 which is what Apple is putting their muscle behind. CBS.com did (and maybe still does) use flash to play video but when i visited their site yesterday I was redirected to an iphone version that had episodes in video format that was compatible (probably html 5).
Hmm... iOS 4 + iPhone 3G = iGiveUpThisSucks. Any way to roll back v3 after upgrading to the latest OS version?
