yeah i have a small chance i would say 2% or less of getting one tonight hell i even tried calling the ghetto walmart, the one in the hood and they are all out. figured they may have some seems like shipments to retailers other than at&t is just super unpredictable right now and even at&t right now is not sure when they may get another shipment. EDIT: a at&t express store is getting in a shipment at 4 today i had to cancel my pre-order and go back to the first store and reverse the contract to hopefully try my luck at the express store. at this point i am trying to get a phone by next thursday if I dont get it by then having to pre-order it again is not an issue for me. after that weekend it really doesnt matter to me if i get it july 12th or august 12th
Anyone know where I can get an iPhone 4 in Houston? It's ridiculous, I called almost 20 places and NONE of them had a single phone.
if you wait a week, then it will likely be easy to get one. if you weren't part of the first crowd rush, then why be in a hurry now? you weren't the first one on the block with one and you weren't the die-hard who queued up for hours in line. just let the hoopla die down a little...and they will be back in stock. today, tomorrow, next week...what's the difference? i guess if i knew the answer to that...i would understand the whole "apple fans love waiting in lines" argument. people like waiting in long lines. does not compute.
The reason I am in a hurry to get one is because my BB is crapping out, it has nothing to do with wanting to be one of the first to get one. My BB is getting slower by the day, freezing up, etc. I just need a new damn phone and unfortunately this is the one I want.
The only way to get one is the morning of a shipment. You have to ask them and keep calling them each morning or night to see if they get a shipment in. Otherwise... you can go with an online order.
to add on my great story from yesterday i went in to reverse my contract to the store they said it would take 5 minutes i guess 5 minutes in their world is 45 minutes in real time. by the time i got to the other att express store they were sold out. its like the gods are all conspiring against me to get this phone. oh well looks like i will have to wait till the end of july
I think some of these apple fanatics just like being around each other so they can gush about how awesome they think it is to other fanboys, cause they understand their obsessions.

I found an old classmate of mine who works at Walmart and the next shipment they get he is going to hold one back for me and call. He said it should be some time later this week or early next. Not too bad.
Not at all...lines suck, but I dont mind waiting an hour for something that Ive been looking forward to for a long time. Plus, I like to walk around the streets with my new iPhone, flaunting it in front of the poor souls that dont have one.
does anyone know when the at&t or apples stores may receive their next shipments? i have heard anywhere from later this week to a month.
I was told by a friend that works there (AT&T) they do not even know when they are sent or how many they are getting, basically Apple just sends what they can when they can.
It's just frustrating as a consumer to have this happen. I know that there isn't really anyone to blame, but I don't understand how it happens. I've heard that it has to do with the production and the lack of the new retina screens or something.
