1.7+ million iPhone 4's sold in first 3 days of launch http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/29153/iPhone_4_Sales_Exceed_17_Million_In_First_Three_Days.php Sales of the new gyro-equipped iPhone 4 surpassed 1.7 million units since its release three days ago, Apple said Monday -- good news for the iPhone platform's legions of video game developers. Apple CEO Steve Jobs called the launch of the iPhone 4 "the most successful product launch in Appleās history." He said that retailers had to turn away some would-be customers due to short supply. The launch of Apple products, such as new iPhone iterations and this year, the new iPad, are marked with the same kind of fervent fandom reminiscent of Twilight film debuts, albeit with fewer screaming tween girls. In 2008, the iPhone 3G sold 1 million units in its first weekend, and the 3GS repeated the same sales feat in 2009. Apple said its new iPad, launched in April, sold 3 million units in its first three months of availability. Apple recently said that as of April, iPhone has sold 50 million units, and iPod Touch had sold 35 million. There are over 40,000 games available on the App Store, making the category the largest, alongside books, according to mobclix. Already, some developers have created games specifically for the iPhone 4 and its new gyro feature. ngmoco, developer of Rolando, recently released Eliminate: GunRange, which lets gamers utilize the iPhone 4's three-axis gyroscope to control the game. Combined with the accelerometer found in previous iPhone iterations, the iPhone 4 now has six-axis motion-sensing. Last week, Apple released iOS4, the latest version of the operating system powering its iPhone & iPod Touch, with an iPad version out in the fall. The iPhone 4 retails in the U.S. for $199 for the 16GB model and $299 for the 32GB model.

Newest info on jailbreaking the i4? Anyone done it? I'm itching to enable the Facetime via 3g. Thanks.
Not as of yet, I'm waiting for the incase slider to come out. That's the one I want to get because it served me well with the other iPhones that I had. Looks like a pretty good case to me. Just make sure to look at reviews of it on youtube before you buy it though. It really just depends on what kind of style you're looking for and stuff.... but that case looks decent to me.
I ordered the Vroom for now. I would like to get one of those ID/credit card cases when they finally arrive though. Are there any cases to avoid that might damage the iPhone? What about screen protectors? hat's the way to go there?
Picked up my new iphone at ATT Oak Hill in Austin today. They received 250 phones and had 75 people in front of me in line when I arrived at 7am. I made it to work right around 9 am.
Congrats! That doesn't sound too bad. I am hoping I can get one tomorrow. How many people ended up behind you waiting?
had to pre-order mine upset cuz when i called the store yesterday the guy i talked to said that they opened at 10am the next day so working on that timeline i got to the store around 830 to see that the store opened at 7am instead then when i was told i maybe able to get a 32gb one i waited i got to near the front of the store and the person 5 spots ahead me got the last one. then i saw the store normal hours was 9am. lame i would have came earlier but i was basing my schedule on the 10am open time because i really didnt want to wait more than an hour in line for the phone. just pre-ordered it will get it shipped to work...my only hope is that one of the people who got the phone (they were doing golden tickets) doesnt come back for it today and it goes on sale will stop by the store tonight at closing time and try my luck i highly doubt it but its worth a shot as its just a 3 min drive from my place
i have the seidio innocase for my 3GS and it's really good. only bad thing i would say is how the silver lining near the bottom gets scratched up from the dust collecting due to the open area for the cable. http://www.seidio.com/innocase.html
they said 7-10 business days i dont know if any of the apples stores nearby have any in stock but i doubt it i was hoping to have the phone by next thursday but it doesnt look like it now
tried calling the stores around here, the att stores, everyone is sold out..i am a bit mad at myself not doing more research on the 7am open...i could have easily gotten one if i got to the store by 8. i havent tried best buy or walmart (there isnt one nearby here) or radio shack yet
Well, good luck to you. Maybe they'll get one in earlier than expected. I am due for my upgrade tomorrow and I am going to try around here and hopefully I'll get lucky.
