I wish they would release the OS upgrade for the 3Gs! I think it is only right that we all have multitasking sooner than later.
Major flaw found in the i4. I was able to reproduce it. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/13nzkL6kQ9Q&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xd0d0d0&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/13nzkL6kQ9Q&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xd0d0d0&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
I keep seeing these videos, but none of them show that this will actually drop a call or kill the signal. Has this been diagnosed yet? Are there any proof positive demonstrations that that show this is actually a usability flaw and not some cosmetic/immaterial thing? I find it hard to believe that Apple would not have come out and addressed this by now otherwise.
the other major issue has been the compatiblity between the iphone and dock connectors. a lot of threads about people not being able to connect to their car audio systems anymore.
thought someone posted a link, said apple knows of the problem and is working to fix it. and most everyone who has that problem says their calls arent dropped at all
Just got mine. without going into a super review of it, the screen is really amazing when I compare it to the 3gs as far as the clarity of text and graphics. I did a side by side comparison and it's like night and day. You don't realize how lower the resolution is on the 3GS until you put the 2 next to each other.
So I'm waiting in line like an idiot at the Michigan Ave Apple Store in Chicago. The wait from start to finish is 4 hours. Apparently you can buy up to 2 iPhones even if you only reserved one...and these things are selling for over $1000 on eBay/Craigslist. Looks like I may be selling two 32gb phones on eBay tonight...
I posted this back on page 39 : http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/23/poll-is-your-iphone-4-retina-display-seeing-yellow-spots/ Most people are saying the "bars issue" is just a visual problem and not an issue with actual reception. Apple has already said they're releasing a software fix for it.
The way I hold my phone now it doesn't effect my signal. People have shown that his signal issue can be fixed by the bumper case from Apple (which Apple is rumored to be giving out for free for ppl who have this problem) or any other case. I don't have any yellow spots.
Whoops. Missed that. Apple needs to ante up and give those 'bumpers' out for free, ala the Wiimote covers.
is it just me that finds it weird that apple offer its first case which happen to only cover the sides of the phone? you create a sleek sexy phone and u want to cover it to add color? 100% the antenna issue was known before the release and the bumper crap is just a way to hide it.
Most likely BUT any case will fix the issue. Most people have cases on their phones anyways... so it really shouldn't be a problem IMO.
Lol@ Supposedly jobs response. That's hilarious. I'm waiting to see how my reception works out. I can definitely see the bars fluctuating, but it hasn't hurt my calls yet. Tried FaceTime with a friend. Very impressive. Smooth with no lag.
lol After Steve Jobs said just hold it differently... Engadget attacks back. http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/25/hey-apple-youre-holding-it-wrong/

They better hope it's a softwares/firmware issues.
