Finally got it low enough where it effects reception. Hmm. I'm in a different location though. Need to test further.
Read where one guy was claiming that his was doing it so much that he called Apple and they told him to do a restore (surprise). They said that if that didn't fix it, they would send him a replacement. Then he said before he could even do a restore, he became unable to duplicate the issue. Still can't consistently duplicate the issue on mine. I'm pretty curious to see if the problem is rampant enough for Apple to even acknowledge it and do something about it.
There's now a video showing the same thing on a 3GS with ios4. So maybe just a software bug? Also can't discount good ol fashioned AT&T network stress.
I thought that was something that wasn't going to be available right away... I was wondering the same thing about the iPhone iMovie app.
Nevermind about iMovie. Apple site just says "coming soon". In other news..it was kind of cool that both EA and Gameloft had awesome sales on their apps today.
Have you tried any? I never bothered with most of EAs games because I was on a 3G. But I'd like to try them now.
You can get something similar for $5 from bestskinsever.com. I put that on my 3G phone and it's done a good job over the past 2 years. These things are basically small versions of the 3M clear bra that people put on their cars. But you're right - if you goof putting it on, you can be out some money.
I think the reception bars are damn-near bogus. I know I've gotten 5 bars in restaurants and web pages loaded slow as hell whereas I've had 3 bars elsewhere and the speed was faster.
From having them for my Zune and researching them for my 3G as well as owning a Neuros MP3 player with an FM transmitter built in (waaay back when), I can tell you they're all a crapshoot in terms of audio quality. If you're using it in your car, you'll be fumbling to switch stations in your car as you drive around the metroplex because interference will screw up the sound quality. As crazy as it may sound, I bought one of these after reading reviews and the overall sound quality was way better and just as importantly, consistent, than any FM transmitter I've used : http://www.amazon.com/Philips-USA-P...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1277352224&sr=8-1 The only downside is you'll need a cassette player in your car.
Man, I know I'm coming from a 3G so it's a bigger jump here but boy is this night and day. Everything is so much crisper, faster, responsive. And yeah, the screen really is that beautiful. Loaded a couple of movies (Inglorious Basterds and Monsters, Inc.) and they look absolutely awesome. I can't wait for Netflix to finally be available. Camera is such a huge improvement and the LED flash works really really well. It even turns on for the video camera. Like I said when the design first leaked, I like the look of it. Even better in person. Feels sturdier, has more weight to it. The 3G in comparison feels like a chubby plastic toy. Still testing reception issues and battery life. I can say that so far I have had no call dropped. Also have yet to test some games. As I mentioned above, may give some of the more graphics-intensive EA games a shot. Did I mention how awesome the screen is?
Yeah...I already had Tiger Woods on my 3GS...no difference in actual gameplay on the 4. Load times are quite a bit faster. Downloaded NFS:Undercover on my 4 and it runs VERY smooth. Can't compare it to earlier versions because I just now dl'ed it, but quite impressive. Also played NOVA on my 4 and it's pretty sick. Pretty big improvement over 3GS framerates (by the naked eye of course...no concrete data or benchmarks).
