Here are some leaked pics.. I guess this is the compass... A picture taken with the camera from the new iPhone The voice recorder Video capture capabilities MMS Landscape Keyboard for texting CPU Activity (it says it will finally have something where it shows whats running and stuff)
New rumor that they could have a 4GB version of the iPhone... so that's 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB... good selection of what size you want. http://www.macrumors.com/2009/06/01/four-iphone-models-ranging-from-4-gb-to-32-gb-coming/ Also... this http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2009/06/01/fidos-2009-roadmap-leaked/
The notion of a $99 iPhone with video calling is ludicrous. I doubt AT&T's network has enough bandwidth to handle the demand. Whenever it does happen (in a couple of years or so), the per minute price will likely be very high.
iCall is likely to happen pretty soon, other AT&T phones already have it... $99 iPhone isn't really ludicrous if an 8 GB is $200..... isn't that just half the price for half the size? I also believe that for AT&T's video calls, they do charge a monthly price... like in the range of $10-$20... so it's not really that high for someone that uses it, probably be the same for iPhone users.
A stripped down $99 iPhone might happen, but it won't have a feature like video calling. Apple would put that on a more expensive phone and make people pay for it. That's just they way they are. I'm not aware of any mobile video calling offered by AT&T now, but I'm not a customer of theirs. On a device like the iPhone, there is explosive potential for video calling. Think of what happened with mobile internet surfing. There could be a serious bandwidth problem. Either AT&T will charge through the nose, or it isn't happening until 4G (or both). At some point in time, mobile video calling will be a huge thing and the iPhone will likely lead the way.
I can tell you right now... the 4GB iPhone WILL have a camera. That's all you need for iCall... As far as Video Call goes, yeah there are some phones AT&T that let you do it if you have it on your plan. iCall is likely to come... at the latest by 2010.
why do you keep saying icall and you need more than just a camera for phone video conferencing...considering the iPhone's camera faces out
Well... I was just using the name as a reference from that little pic.. you can call it whatever you want.. Well... yeah, the placement of the camera or having double camera's would be required for video conferencing, but it's not really a big deal... they can add that, it's not a major difference though to the phone, it's not going to run up the price of the phone.
Thanks to the contract, everything the iPhone does is directly related to AT&T. There aren't that many capable phones in the US for this, not too mention that ATT will be concerned with bandwidth and Apple will have to take that into consideration. Heck, look at all the problems the Slingbox app went through for that very reason now, att is supposed to upgrade their network, and the contract won't last forever. I'm not saying that video conferencing isn't in the cards, but for the immediate future at least it's not as easy as Apple deciding to turn the camera around. They could very well put it into the phone we'll see in a couple months, who knows. But it would be a major upgrade if done.
No feud. Other than him thinking I was a chick cause I posted a picture of my dog and the other owner. Basically, her breast was in the way. And me and moestavern19, and to an extent Rockets2K give him crap in this mystery unofficial room of clutchfans. Other than that, I got this dudes back in a battle on Clutchfans.
