I Guess clicking on the home button leads you straight to it? just got it myself went home on lunch to update
I don't like that it is apart of the home screen. Makes it too easy to trigger by accident. It would have been better if it was a button you could push.
i decided that at&t is too expensive for me so im thinking about jailbreaking an iphone to have tmobile as my carrier anybody know any good sites with clear directions on how to do this? is it worth it? should i jailbreak the 1st generation or the 3G iphone? where can i buy the cheapest uncontracted iphones? thanks
I like the copy and paste implementation. Very easy to use. Also like that I can do it from webpages and other apps. How would you trigger it by accident? I think the default is you have to swipe one screen to the left if you are on the home screen. Otherwise it is mapped to the home button. But even then you have to hit the button twice to take you there. If you are on any other page, one push takes you to page 1. Another push will take you to Spotlight. Even if you do two quick pushes it still won't take you to Spotlight.
Yay, I can now forward texts and delete parts of the conversation if I want to. Won't be going to 3GS since I just got my phone in January and don't have the upgrade price, and the added video isn't gonna get me to buy it...but it's tempting.
To be honest, the significant speed increase I keep reading about is what's pulling me the most. But I'm going to hold out for next year when the contract is up, see what's going to be offered...
I ordered an iPhone 3Gs on Tuesday. From Wednesday on, the phone has been in status "Prepared to Ship". I don't understand WTF is going on and why the phone hasn't shipped already? Are they going to ship it overnight to meet their "Delivers by June 19th" deadline? Or, is their site just slow to update with shipping information and it may have already shipped? Some of the accessories I ordered have shipped...but not the iPhone. I don't get it. If it is in "Prepared to Ship" status for over 24 hours, then why doesn't it show it shipped yet? Are they purposely waiting to overnight it? Or, am I just not going to get it tomorrow?
I'm not sure where you ordered it from but I ordered one from AT&T and they are waiting to send it overnight. Of course they're wording doesn't say I will have it on the 19th, just that I may.
Bah...my order got all screwed up. I knew the upgrade phone process was too good to be true. They ended up tele-conferencing me in with an Apple rep and ATT rep to work out the issues with upgrading my current cell phone to an iPhone. This basically translates into a delay in me getting my iPhone. I should have just ordered the new phone with a new phone number putting it on my account and cancelled my other phone. Lesson learned...never trust the online upgrade process...unless maybe you are upgrading an existing iPhone. If you are upgrading some other phone, then good luck. It let me check out and all that stuff. But, they sat on my order until they called me days later. Now, I'm really not sure when I'm getting my iPhone.
My five month old curve was lost or stolen from my wife's purse on our flight to Amsterdam three weeks ago, and I went without a cell phone for two and a half weeks while in Europe. We've been back since Monday, and I've been using an old Samsung flip phone that has been in my closet for five or six years. The only half way compelling T-mobile is the new curve 8900, and because I'm not eligble for an upgrade, they want $500 for that thing! Because I'm a long-time customer though, they'll let me have it for $440. Woo-hoo!!!!!!!!! I could cancel my account, pay the $200 early termination, sign a new two year contract, and only pay $185 (which includes the $35 new activation fee). Of course, $385 is still too much to pay for a new blackberry that still isn't even 3G. SO......I decided to get an iPhone. I'll just cut my losses with T-mobile and move on down the line. My wife has an iPhone, and I just want to add a line to her account and get me the new phone..........but the website says I need to go to the nearest apple store to do that. Just to be sure though, I have my wife call up there and make sure I can go without her. They say, "sure....all you need is the last four digits of her social, but you'll need to come up here to complete the reservation." The girl even checks with her "manager" to make sure she was telling us the right thing. So I trek all the way up to Bay Brook and deal with the "mall" (I HATE malls) and go to the apple store........................only to be told that there are no more reservations available, the 3G S doesn't go on sale until tomorrow ( No **** Sherlock), and that there is no reason for me to be there because they can't do anything for me until then............ I am less than amused.
You'll should see the line outside of Best Buy on 610 and Richmond (galleria area) you would think it was Black Friday or something.
I have an 2.1 version of the iphone...is there anyway i can get the 3.0 version..if anyone can help thanks.. btw yes i did look through google..but im not finding much.. Chilcutt
