Sound to me someone is mad that Microsoft is doing all the right thing and will be surpassing their little iPod and iPhone. Since you know so much, I'm using Windows 7 right now. That's what happen when a fanboy like yourself who have his head stuck way up in Steve Jobs' ass. The Palm Pre is already superior to the iPhone is every way except that the Apple executives really know how to overhype their products. And to anyone who think about jailbreaking their iPhone 3.0 should wait and follow THIS .
Maybe I'm talking out of my ass but they will take a big chunk out of the iPod and iPhone sale. They already own the OS department for many years even if their previous OS isn't that good. But Windows 7 is all the hype. Don't think they can stop the hype that the iPod had produced. But by the look of the Zune HD specs and design and software functionality. It's going to give the iPod Touch a good competition. At least this time the Zune HD hype is totally legit.
Why are you talking about Windows in a thread about cell phones? Windows Mobile is not even close to the iPhone OS.

Ok, I went through the "ordering process" on att.com and they were going to charge me $36 for the upgrade. So, I stopped the order.

here is an idea for you. Start your own thread on the differences between the ones you are pimping and the others. Quite a few folks in this thread have mentioned that this thread is specific to iPhone, and yet you still seem to think this is a Apple vs MS thread.

Since obviously you know everything that there is to know about WM6.5 and WM7, why don't you explain how it is so ****ing great? IT HASN'T RELEASE YET DUMBASS! You have know idea what you are even talking about. You've never seen it. You've never used it. I've owned and supported MANY WM devices and the biggest knock on them is that they are resource hogs which make them slow. Very, very slow. Add that to the fact that they are ugly as hell and have zero aesthetic quality, it's no contest between WM and the iPhone. So you can keep talking out of your ass as much as you want but you sound like a moron going on and on about how great something is PRE-RELEASE!
I was pretty 'meh' on the new model (at least in comparison to what I have in the 3G), but Anandtech has a new article up which talks about the hardware differences between the 3GS and the 3G. Basically a good bump in processing speed (they say that the '2X' faster Apple is promoting is actually fairly accurate) and a really big bump in graphics power. Considering I'm not available for upgrade and I have no desire to spend the 'non upgrade' price it's a moot point for me, but something those of you who will be picking up your first iPhone should consider. http://anandtech.com/gadgets/showdoc.aspx?i=3579
If money is a problem, the iPhone is a hot item right now on eBay, I think you can sell yours (jailbroken, which isn't very hard to do) for around $500-$600 (the 16GB that is) prob a hundred to two hundred less for the 8 gb.. That's just something I threw out just incase money was a problem. Whoever wants to use that method better hurry up though.... more and more people are starting to put their iPhone on eBay, prices will go lower..
Well, I could get it, but the wife might not be too happy about it. And yeah, I consider selling my 3G for a little homemade 'subsidized price', but I think I'm just going to go through this last year of my contract and see what Apple or anyone else has in store next June.
Yeah, that's exactly what I'm doing... I'm not feeling this upgrade, it's not really much, now with 4G expected soon, we could see a 4G iPhone next June, my contract expires in March of '10 so that'd be perfect for me to get the new one. I did a good job of keeping my iPhone in pretty good condition, I hope it'll last one more year.
