Apple's iPad 2 Event - March 2nd

I already have an adapter that hooks into my iPad and can extract photos from an SD card. I would hope this would be something more useful.

 

Just started. Jobs is there said he couldn't miss such a big day.

 

Any place to watch it live?

 

So far I'm impressed. If the iPad 3 blows the iPad 2 away later in the year, good for everyone. This will make Google and the Android vendors work harder.

March 11th.

 

iPad 3 won't be announced for another year. I don't see Apple breaking their yearly product cycle.

@A3PO - I believe the iPad3 Sept rumors are slightly off the mark and will turn out to be the 7 inch, wifi only, mini-iPad/mega-iTouch

 

When they say it "ships March 11th", does that mean I'll actually have it in my possession on March 11th? I have a 9:30pm international flight that night, will be away for 2 weeks, and would love to take the iPad 2 along.

I'm sure it will be available in Apple stores on the 11th.

 

It would be pretty cool to be the only person in Istanbul on March 12th with the iPad 2.

ok i'll take it back. there's an SD connector to use an SD but it's not free. definitely a must have.

 

Keep in mind, I believe that is only for uploading - I don't believe it works as memory expansion (can't play videos directly off SD card)

So apparently the iPad 2 will be released in-store at 5pm on March 11th.

I have a 9:30pm flight that same day to Istanbul.

Since I mostly want the iPad for when I travel, it makes sense to get it the day it is released.

Do you guys think there will be long lines outside the Apple Store on the 11th? I remember hearing about the ridiculous lines for the iPhone 4, so I'm sure this will be no different.

 

just called them. there's no way to preorder or reserve. sucks!

when i bought the ipad 1 there was a long line even there was a preorder.

and their website site as if saying that i can order online and they'll ship it, still not open. sucks!
