I don't know why I am asking, but here goes. Did you really NOT know it wouldn't support flash when you bought it? That seemed to be the single biggest and well documented complaint folks had with it. How could you NOT know it did not support flash? Why did you buy it? You continually complain about Apple and their products, yet you went out and bought another Apple product? Don't you have an iPhone as well?
I'm in the same boat and will only buy it if the screen is Retina or close, but from what I have read, the screen is only seeing a "brighter in sunlight" improvement on Samsung screens at the same resolution. Ipad 2 HD this fall/holiday 2011 when supplies should be at higher levels for retina capable screens.
I can't fully decide - part of me wants to wait and see if the rumors pan out that a 7-in touch/pad hybrid is going to come out in Sept. I'd be all about that. I basically like the iPad, but it strikes me as.... -just big enough to be awkward/heavy as a portable gaming/video/non-netbook -really pricey for a data-connected 10in iTouch I am a gadget geek, but I'd be far more interested in a non-data connected, 7 in, 32GB, $300 version.
That's one major thing that has me thinking about going Android. I'm tired of Apple intentionally dicking the market over with the proprietary docks and no mini-usb ports, and refusing to add microSD/SD slots so they can make you bend over for the different price points. No Flash is also a pretty big ding, especially since it's Jobs doing it out of spite (money). If the Android market would hurry up and catch up to iTunes store, I'd be settled on them.
I was looking for this too but only found the Archos tablet with Andriod that has HORRIBLE Customer service and they charge fees for video codecs downloads. All and all you get what you pay for. Apple just seems expensive but in the long run the price is fair.
One thing for sure, the Android market is growing like crazy. You shouldn't be disappointed. You should play with a tablet running Honeycomb 3.0. As for Apple, I mainly only enjoy the fact there is little fragmentation with their OS
Any speculations to how much ipad 2 will cost? I'm more of an android person but this will be a gift. Also, I'm tempted to wait for the samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with android 3.3 but not sure when it will be released.
Stay away from Samsung, unless you want to be on Honeycomb or Froyo forever. They take the longest in providing updates for their software. They are definitely more hardware oriented
This. I prefer Android over iOS for several reasons, but I want the iPad 2 to blow the doors off expectations. This will force Google and their Android partners to work harder to catch up, which will force Apple to work harder to stay ahead. Rinse and repeat. We all benefit. The stupid nattering back-and-forth as if this were team sports or warfare makes no sense at all.
