There's a ton of 3GS/4 owners waiting for this phone. They are not waiting for any specific updates. They just want to get the latest..whatever it has. So it will sell.

The other users who are on the fence will have to decide if LTE, taller screen, NFC etc are worth upgrading for.

There's not much apple can wow someone with the iphone anymore. The phone has been out for 5 years...it's just about keeping it up to date with the latest internals.

This is a least a new design. At least the industrial design on this one is much more solid than the stupid glasses on both sides of the 4 series. This is more to their designs that matches with their Mac products like their Mac Pro casing with the tiny vent holes. To me this is at least their best looking phone to date.

On my old 3GS iPhone, I didn't know but I had a headphone jack piece of the end in there... so the same thing was happening to me, but I didn't have headphones or the other piece to hear the music. I had to use a strong adhesive to leave stuck on that piece to pull it out (that's what SHE said). I was just about to tell you that there would be a problem with your headphone input orifice, like mine had. I'm glad yours is working on a trade now.

If you say so. I'm not betting that Steve Jobs was the security guard for the building. And, as much speculation as there is about each product, and how many product releases there are, it's not really unheard of for somebody to get it (mostly) right once in a while. Especially when major advances aren't on the horizon.

But in terms of an actual, honest-to-god, leak? That was a one time deal with the iPhone 4, and Apple royally flipped their s**t about it and nearly sued/black hawk helicoptered the world into oblivion. That makes me think this "leak" isn't really all that much to get worried about... nor most other "leaks" before this.

I want a significantly bigger screen. Also, I'm pretty tired of iOS and not at all impressed with the changes being made to iOS6. The UI hasn't changed hardly at all since te first iPhone. I'm waiting to see what happens with Win8 phone and the iPhone and will make a decision then.

A bigger screen is a must, no doubt. But I'm still unsure, even after 2 years of Android ownership vs. 4 years of iPhone ownership, which OS I prefer. I gave a slight edge to Android because I happen to use so many Google services and they were free, but now that Apple finally made all their similar services free with iCloud, it's kind of a dead heat for me. I suppose I could say it like this, there are individual aspects of Android and its phone lines that I like more than Apple's, but on the whole/using a bigger picture perspective, I prefer iPhone. Windows phone is a wildcard for me, I'm waiting to see just like you. Not expecting much, though.

Those pics of the '5' are underwhelming. I need a new phone and my company will pay $200 towards it. I like the iOS ecosystem but since I got an iPad the iPhone has become a standard smartphone with apps that any other phone OS can match.

If they don't wow me with some nice specs I'd consider jumping to a Droid.

I am going to see what nokia announces at nokia world for WP8; otherwise I will get the iPhone. I had the 3gs and now the 4.

I am going to switch to verizon or sprint eitherway. I can't take ATT's crappy service anymore. iPhone or not.

    lol @ bloomberg.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) is preparing to introduce the next version of the iPhone on Sept. 12 in what will be a design overhaul of its top-selling product, according to two people with knowledge of the company’s plans.

The design change will be Apple’s first for the best- selling smartphone since 2010, when it unveiled the iPhone 4. Last year’s update, the 4S, had the same look as the prior version.

That is a design change, even if it's clearly iphone 4/4S inspired. Other than the design of the buttons on the side, nothing about it is the same as previous model.

I'm somewhat versed in all this phone (6 months later newest and brightest available) apple/android stuff.

but one thing I'm curious about is my experience with android is that the apps remain open on the phones, even after a force close app you look again a few hours later and stuff is open again that you have never even used.

apple doesn't seem to have this problem. is there something I'm missing here? over time it seems to slow android phones down and is frankly annoying.

I switched from the iPhone 4s to a galaxy s3... Am loving it but I do miss the ios motion transitions and the extremely minor things you don't really think about like where the question mark is placed on the keyboard

Ios was smooth but lacked features

This android software is a lot smoother than years past and has more raw features but does not top the fit and finish of ios. I hope android can replicate that someday

Perhaps I'm not calling it by its proper name. You know when you slide to unlock, how the screen fades so perfectly??

Basically all transitions between screens/menus have a level of finesse that Android hasn't matched yet.

With that said functionality is lacking on iOS. Apple either makes you do it their way or no way. With android there are options as to how you want your **** working.

Widgets are a big example of this. Having a task list widget has been awesome. I get to see my tasks to do every time I scroll past that screen. Whereas in IOS I would have to open the app every time I wanted to do that. It's a constant reminder of the things that I have to be doing

I'm in the same position. I think I'm gonna go with an Android though. I really like the design and the picture and video quality. Any helpful tips with anyone who owns one or has owned one?
