Looks like the new iPhone might be announced Wednesday September 12th according to a few sources. http://www.theverge.com/2012/7/30/3204810/next-apple-iphone-5-event-date-rumor-september-12 http://thenextweb.com/apple/2012/07...-event-on-september-12th-mark-your-calendars/ http://www.engadget.com/2012/07/30/two-sources-talk-of-iphone-event-around-september-12th/
I'm curious if the newer iPhone is released when/if it will be released on virgin mobile. I'm holding out until then regardless with the phone i have, but even though its $600 upfront for an iPhone its only $30 for a monthly plan...so inexpensive. i think its the best option.
And a couple of months later, the rumored 3 or 4 next-gen Nexus phones from Samsung, LG, HTC, etc will be released and the S3 won't be the top-of-the-line Android phone any more. Maybe the successor to Jelly Bean (Key Lime Pie or Kandy Kane) will be introduced then. Android's answer(s) to the iPhone 5 excite me.
It wouldn't show anything on the overlay black speaker rounded square. It was like it wouldn't recognize it. I eventually took it to the apple store and the guy there that looked at it said there was slight water damage to the headphone jack. He said they don't normally cover it, but he said he'd do it this one time. So fortunately the apple store dude was really cool and gave me a brand new iPhone!
Same phone again and y'all will all buy it. http://www.businessinsider.com/if-the-iphone-5-really-looks-like-this-apple-may-be-screwed-2012-7
I agree with this. I've had the last 4 iterations of the iPhone and if the iPhone 5 is like this one, I'm going elsewhere. I love Apple but the iPhone needs a MAJOR overhaul.
I don't get it. The way the Galaxy S looks compared to the Galaxy S3 is very similar. There's not a whole hell of a lot you can do to just aesthetically change a phone. It helps sell more phones to simply have some kind of obvious designation that you have the latest/greatest status symbol, but anybody expecting something off the wall is being unrealistic. The screen size is really the only thing they can drastically change, and that's priority #1 apparently. So, that along with a few meaningless cosmetic tweaks will be plenty. And people should know by now not to trust these "leaks"... the only time that has ever happened with Apple and actually been legit it turned out to be a once in a lifetime f***-up by some drunk dude in a bar.
The GS didn't even look the same compared to other GS's. One of em' even had a flip keyboard. Mwuahaha.
There's a billion iterations of those damn phones, but when you google "Samsung Galaxy S" the basic structure of the phone didn't change all that much. Even from generation to generation. It's all a moot point anyway, they'll move the logo and put some pointless accents on it somewhere and it'll be "new".
I think you are really underselling how big an aesthetic difference there is between the S/S2/S3. The pictures really speak for themselves for Samsung's design evolution vs Apple's.
I usually upgrade my iPhone when a new one comes out each year but if this is the way it's going to look I am going to hold off. Unless there is something worth it for me to upgrade I will just stick to my 4s. Rather enjoy all my accessories etc with the regular plug compared to the new version connector port where we probably have to buy and adapter.
I owned an S and I currently own an S2. They are almost identical to me. The S3 is more of a change, but I don't think it's much more than whatever Apple is going to roll out based on "leaks". Moral of the story, I'm not expecting huge changes from any cell phone producer any time soon. Those types of leaps seem to happen once every 10 years or so.
As long as the new iPhone has both LTE and a larger screen, it is instantly a worthy upgrade over any of the current iPhones. NFC would be cool but I don't think there is much practical use for that since the technology is still pretty limited for now.
Umm.. wat? A phone hasn't been released since his death to confirm or disconfirm any "leaks". Are you talking about other Mac products, I guess? If so, what would that be?
