i was looking for one myself - from what I've seen, everyone seems to love the Marware Eco-Vue http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/reviews/entry/marware-eco-vue-for-ipad/
Also bought the iPad for my younger sister to get her off the computer but to also use it for myself once awhile. It's a love it and hate it tablet. The web surfing is so basic. The most annoying is that 30% of the time you will accidentally click on the link. That will lead to terrible reloading of the webpages because it doesn't have enough memory to cache. Virtual typing is terrible and the terrible keys layout because you have to go an extra step to find that key(s). You will end up typing with one finger most of the time. I thought I could live without Flash but I was wrong. Text aren't that clear at all and could strain your eyes. Safari does suck. Have try others browsers but they aren't that good either. What I like about it so far is reading comic books on it. Totally love that. There are some cool apps/games. Viewing photos is pretty cool. Love the origami slideshow. Great battery life. It's nice to carry it around the house and powerup pretty fast for a quick web surfing. But without Flash it put a big dent on the iPad. There are so many Flash sites that I go to and would like to go to doesn't support it. Steve Jobs is a douche. I don't think the ipad is good for note taking. You'll going to need a stylus pen with a great program that can pick up your handwriting quickly. I hope Microsoft haven't giving up on the stylus handwriting.
MeeGo...pretty cool... <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/QqeeQd-YNL0&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/QqeeQd-YNL0&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
I agree with some of your comments. Typing certainly isn't as intuitive as a keyboard, and as an old school blackberry user - my firm still strongly prefers blackberry - I do find actually hitting theykeyeasier, too. But the wife has had her iPhone for two years now so not difficult adjustment. I was just reading about some program that could come out that would automatically convert all flash to language that would work on iPad. Ripcode or something like that. Which would be nice. Generally though I definitely think notepad are way of the future - somee pc maker may come out with a better one - heck, probably google, right but I'm content with apple for now. I just paid $5 for Note Taker HD which is pretty much only note program getting great reviews at the moment. Will let you know what I think after some use.
