Calm down. This article did not present anything new. "Indefinitely" means they do not know when he will be back. This is the same prognosis as before.

Vince is not exactly Mr. durable himself. He didn't get the nickname "Half-Man, Half a Season" for nothing.

Of course, any player can get injured at anytime, and then some aren't so quick to get back on the court (depending upon the situation). But a player who has a chronic injury that flares up at random is intolerable.

If that was truly the case they need another big time scorer and to trade Rafer because his job as a PG isn't being fulfilled.

Somehow I'm not really worried about the news. It sounds to me more like the Rockets have made up their mind that they can weather the storm this time around without T-Mac, and are going to give him ample time to recover instead of rushing him back to action and risking losing him again around playoff time. Give him time to rest and bring him back after the road trip is over...and let everyone else speculate.

I agree completely...living in Kansas City, we paid Mike Sweeney (royals) a huge contract of about 11/m a year and he has had a similar back problem each year and has averaged playing about 60% of the games at about 90% healthy. I am afraid TMAC may have a similar problem. (although I am hoping he can play about 70% of our games at 90% and the playoffs at 100%)

But back problems tend to not go away.

Dike: Tmac is out again, that means Luther is starting!
Luther: I got to cover Kobe?? Waitress, I got Red Bull and Vodka, how come you only gave me Red Bull?
Vince: I'd suit up for Tmac, the Rockets love me unlike them other cats at Enron Reliant Aramark McNair Corp

Theres no real new news the way I'm reading it, so I'm not too worried about right now.

We have a better team than last year and more shooters on the floor, Yao has nothing but upside ahead of him.

You really think that once this latest bout of "back spasms" passes, he will be fine for the rest of the year?? Did you watch any games last season?

Not to be Debbie Downer here, but I pretty much knew it was just a matter of time before the back issue came up again. This is not the last we will see of it this year either. It will get worse before it gets better.

When T-Mac comes back, he's probably going to go back to jump shooting mode. If he doesn't, meaning if he plays agressive, we'll have to see if this happens again because of the agressive play.

If it happens again after this, we know it's over. (Not over, but he's not going to be making too many games, forget about plays)

I wish him well and hope we don't see the passive T-Mac when he comes back, but it's understandable if we do.

I'd rather have him play hard now and know he can't then save it until the playoffs and then figure out he'll injure himself. At least this way the team will see what they can do without him.

    Anyone agree?

Damnit man and to think we were going to see the old T-Mac again is the biggest tease...

Correct me if I'm wrong... but wasn't it getting better last year when a freak accident had him falling on his tailbone, brusing it, and triggering a whole new run of back spasms that kept him out for the rest of the year?

i'd do a a trade for TMAC involving Chris Paul, Jason Kidd, Kobe or Steve Nash. I really dont think any other player in the NBA can be as effective with Yao.

Believe me, no all-star caliber playmaker, no playoffs. Like almost every other big, Yao needs people who can draw defenses and feed him the ball well.

This is a chronic problem, I think he can work around it, but to play at the NBA level is asking alot. We will just have to wait and see. You had to know he wasn't playing 82 games. At 20 mil plus a year, now that's a problem. That is almost as much money as Mario Williams makes.
